The Silly Games Begin…Again

As usually happens whenever we investigate any scam, and begin the process of moving aside the stones and revealing the bugs and worms underneath – the scammers attempt to hack us. In this case, an attempt was made to access my primary email account used in my communications with shady individuals.

However, since those making the attempts are old, homeless, penniless and stupid (no, they are not the non-existent MJ-12, Majic or NSA) – the attempt failed. Thanks to the security tools that I have set in place, I was alerted this morning to an attempted intrusion overnight.

The Value of an Intelligent Security System

My double-strong password blocked the attempts. Additionally, the benefit of having an avid interest in online technologies and IT security is that at this point I have a number of security apps processing this particular account. Upon any security intrusion, like this one, the applications log the IP, location, computer name and details and even the GPS coordinates (or at least the nearest cell tower or network hub.)

Obviously, setting your email account in this way converts your email into a virtual Venus Flytrap, where every idiot scammer attempting to hack into your account ends up giving up details about himself that he never wanted you to know. I’ve handed over all of that data to the RU tech experts to analyze. What this means is that RU now has even more information against a growing list of criminal scammers and fraudsters.

Who Exactly Is Gordon Novel and What is RAM?

gnovelOver the past few years, the topic of Gordon Novel has come up surrounding the question of alleged government involvement in the field of Ufology. The question of government involvement usually focuses on the two issues of sociological study and/or the monitoring of advanced technological advancements. For anyone who has had any insight into the real man named Gordon Novel – neither subjects immediately come to mind. As of a few years ago, his name was never associated with Ufology either. The JFK assassination? Yes. UFOs? No. So why now? First, a little history.

The JFK Madness and Gordon’s Part

Instead of detailing the sordid past – there’s more than enough material on the web covering this aspect of Gordon’s activities – I’m going to quote from one of the best sources for learning about Gordon’s JFK association. That is an article titled, “Gordon Novel: CIA Agent or Con Artist?” by Dave Reitzes. If you’re curious about the accuracy of what Dave has written – just review the first part of that page where Gordon Novel has repeatedly threatened Dave to take down the page. Obviously there’s something there Gordon doesn’t want people to know.

Here’s a repost of some assorted notes on Novel, beginning with the subject that brought Novel his original notoriety — his claim that a munitions burglary he participated in had actually been a CIA operation.

This is, in fact, what lies at the heart of Gordon’s alleged JFK investigation involvement.

Contrary to later claims by participant Gordon Novel (a self-proclaimed electronics expert who was working with Garrison until Garrison decided that Novel’s associations were suspicious and subpoenaed him as a witness, whereupon Novel left the state), the heist appears to have been, in fact, a simple burglary, not the CIA “weapons transfer” alleged in many conspiracy books (cf. New Orleans States-Item, May 25, 1967; Grand Jury transcript of Rancier Blaise Ehlinger, March 30, 1967). Nevertheless, even Gus Russo reports the incident as a CIA weapons transfer (Russo, Live by the Sword [Baltimore: Bancroft, 1998], pp. 150-53).

This is only partially true – a few years ago I spoke with Gus on the phone when he was working on an article covering alleged CIA Ufology involvement for Dan Smith. During that phone conversation, he mentioned his past investigation and work on the JFK assassination, so I asked him for his opinion about Gordon Novel, because for a few years RU investigations have seen him poking his head around the fringes of the Ufology crowd. Russo’s opinion of him was swift and clear, he essentially reported that Gordon was pretty much just a phony.

The oddest part of the Dave Reitzes piece is that Gordon wrote to Dave denying his CIA claims, even though they are well documented in Dave’s article, throughout the Internet as well as throughout the many mailing lists that Gordon currently uses to distribute his “RAM” promotional diatribes. With that said – there are a number of scientists that do support and promote Gordon – we’ll get to them in future posts.

According to one account by Gordon Novel, “It was one of the most patriotic burglaries ever committed . . . the CIA virtually gave us the key to the bunker . . . my fellow burglar, Arcacha Smith, and I are still employed by the CIA” (A. J. Weberman Web site, Nodule 21).

RU investigators have been privy to Gordon’s claims in our own investigation of the “RAM Project,” an odd assortment of fringe scientists who have been collaborating with Gordon for years in attempting to extract risk capital investments from wealthy investors. What’s the project? It’s a reverse-engineering effort to, put simply, reverse-engineer a UFO “craft” using the most “advanced” propulsion technology available to mankind.

The fact that the alleged propulsion technology proposed by these scientists currently can’t even lift a balloon into the sky, let alone a heavy craft, completely flies over the head of many investors. They have more money than they know what to do with (they really don’t care if they lose it – that’s the nature of risk capital), and not enough brains to differentiate between fact and fiction. As long as there’s a possibility that such technology could exist at some point makes some of them open up their pocketbooks to the snake oil salesmen.

We’ve also seen the claims Gordon has made in emails to potential investors – claims related to his alleged connection with CIA as late as July 2009. These claims stem from his contacts with the elusive and mysterious “RP.”

When potential investors confront “RP” directly about such claims, he will often write an obscure diatribe that hints at a deeper meaning – a metaphorical collection of words and potential clues. “Believer” investors think he’s hinting at authentic CIA involvement. RP bcc’s these emails to friends that he considers as “sane” as though it’s a joke. I asked him once how he can find a $200 million scam funny. His response was, “Because I know the $200 million scam will only turn into a $200 fraud.” The man has a strange, sick sense of humor. Is it possible it’s because he was slapped on the wrist and placed in the “back room” (weird-desk) after his episode in the Hughes/China fiasco in the late 1990s and he needed something to occupy his active mind and his private time? Maybe. One thing we do know is that he uses Gordon in the same way he uses Dan Smith.

Gordon Novel’s CIA Involvement

Imagine it’s 1998, and word gets back to the CIA that someone out there is claiming to be a CIA operative as part of the JFK assassination conspiracy madness.

The CIA Office of Security conducts a brief investigation, and as a result we have this declassified documentation – an internal memo/documentation contained in CIA security file record number: 104-10305-10000. Page four of the file states:

“Sergeant Haas was advised that a Gordon Novel, believed to be identical to the Gordon Novel of interest to Fort Lauderdale’s Organized Crime Division, is not now nor has he ever been an employee or employed in any capacity with the CIA. The undersigned added that since the late 60’s, Gordon Novel has periodically claimed employment with the CIA.”

Why was Gordon claiming CIA connections? The page 5 incident report lays it out nicely:

He is claiming to be affiliated with the Agency and under this guise has approached several companies specializing in electronic surveillance. It is for this reason that caller wishes to verify SUBJECT’s employment.

Another clue, from page 7:

Subject advised that he had an economic formula which would solve the world dollar dumping crisis – IR – 9 February 1973

Another clue, from page 10, dated 1980:

…and in the ensuing conversation Novel indicated that he was involved in a “commercial venture” and felt that the results might be of interest to “ONI”. He indicated, in essence, that his project involved outfitting a “fast patrol craft” with various means of testing defense systems (NFI).

In the conversation above, Gordon claimed, once again, an affiliation with the CIA. Page 16 reads:

Mr. Jameson also requested traces on two individuals who are alleged to have been involved in this matter — Larry Blanscett and Bridget Pfiffer. He was advised that the Office of Security had no record of either of these individuals.

Now – while it’s clear that this particular individual has a long history of attempting to “sell” his commercial ventures, what’s a little bit strange is the question of whether he works alone. The introduction of the two individuals above suggests one of two things. It may be possible that Gordon Novel was working alone and invented those identities of his own accord. However, it might also be possible that there are others, either faking Intel involvement, or misrepresenting their actual Intel status and position, in order to manipulate and use this figure from the organized crime community. While the knee-jerk reaction is to suggest that this is an official, covert action of a U.S. Intelligence agency – a more likely possibility is that it is part of an organized, private effort that actively exploits such “believers” for their own financial purposes.

The Bad Shepherd

The Bad Shepherd

James Jesus Angleton is widely known as the long-serving Associate Deputy Director of Operations for Counter-Intelligence at the CIA. The 2006 spy movie “The Good Shepherd” was loosely based on his career as the agency’s premier spy catcher, as were several other films and novels, most notably the 2007 three-part miniseries “The Company” starring Michael Keaton.

Nicknamed “Kingfisher”, James Jesus Angleton was forced to resign from the CIA in 1975 after nearly twenty-five years service[1]. He died fourteen years later in 1987, aged 69.

What is not so widely known is that certain authors have used James Jesus Angleton’s name to bolster claims of a huge government cover-up regarding crashed flying saucers and a super secret government cabal known as Majestic-12.

One such writer is Captain Robert “Bob” Collins, co-author of the self-published book Exempt from Disclosure,[2] first released in 2005.  In the book, Collins claims that he has been in regular contact with the Miami grandson of James Jesus Angleton, who provided him with many of his grandfather’s personal notes that were allegedly taken during classified CIA briefings.

“James Angleton Jr., Miami, FL, has been providing us with much needed support over the last few years.  Many of the conversations have centered on his grandfather’s personal notes which number in the thousands of pages according to Jim.[3]

Tim Cooper further reinforced the source of these notes from a 45-minute phone conversation with Angleton Jr. in March 2000.

“He is holding his granddad’s papers, which his father gave him for safekeeping and some Dulles files which Angleton took from CIA headquarters.[4]

The content of these alleged notes range from the sublime to the ridiculous. The first mention of the information contained therein concerns a top-secret government experiment involving teleportation:

“As a further concluding remark to this chapter, both Tim Cooper’s father MSgt Harry B Cooper, now deceased and Jim Angleton’s grandfather (James Jesus Angleton, Section 2, Chapter 1), also deceased in 1987, have both described early government work involving teleportation experiments. One such set of experiments was said to have taken place at Wright-Patterson AFB in early 60s. Needless to say, those early experiments ended up in disaster where solid innate matter was turned inside out as did the animals they used in the experiments. Jim Angleton’s grandfather James Jesus who is mentioned above related the following with Jim reading from his CIA notes. Angleton writes: The first transport blew up a rat. It literally blew up into pieces. A visitor (Alien) helped them tweak the dimensions to send the rate from point “a” to point “b.” But as of 1979, they had not been able to make a rat move. However, in the ’90s, they were successful in moving water from point “a” to point “b.”[5]

The Sublime Albert Einstein

The Sublime

It is interesting that the information above mirrors almost exactly a scene in the 1999 movie, “Galaxy Quest”. In it, a pig-rat thing is transported aboard a spaceship and is turned inside out and exploded before the inexperienced operator ran the transporter properly. Coincidence? We think not, especially when one considers that the rewriting of “real” information (i.e. the script of a movie in this case) in order to fit with the fantasies as displayed in Collins’ book and other, similar venues is par for the course for the scammers. Another notable example is provided in the very next section below.

Angleton Jr. provided the following information to Collins and several others, allegedly taken directly from the personal notes of Albert Einstein in 1952 and formerly in the possession of his late grandfather, but with their actual origins much closer in time.

The Ridiculous

“The qualitative picture is a local field of positive cosmological constants contributing to the local metric field in a small boundary layer around the skin of the craft. The layer was controlled by the EM brainwave of the pilot. The pilot also has a Q* type of field. Dr. Einstein expanded… The fuselage of the craft was more liken to a high temperature super-conductor to which the occupants do not feel the g forces at high accelerations or sharp turns. There is a direct correlation to mind-linkage via headband and hand-panels. There is an exotic field surrounding the vehicle. The hull had super-conducting properties[6]

“We watched the craft displace gravity via propagation by a magnetic wave (3). It resonated at first, ALF (Alien Life Form) our liaison, telepathically explained its basic propulsion stating that N in the equation (not shown) is the number of pairs in the super-conductor (these electron pairs contribute to the anti-gravity effect)…with a slowly changing component and frequency for the EM field.[7]

Bob Collins comes close to recognizing the probable true source for the above quote in the very next paragraph. He writes:

“This scene seems to be depicted in the 1951 movie, ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ (4) where in this case the scientist is Albert Einstein and the alien is ALF[8]“.

As we will see in the next section, Bob Collins himself is convinced the person he has been speaking to since at least February 2001 and probably earlier is the bona-fide grandson of the late James Jesus Angleton. It is little wonder why. Having the apparent endorsement of such a high profile figure -albeit twice removed- does wonders for your credibility and perhaps lessens the need to do a little fact checking.

The information that has been attributed to James Jesus Angleton is both startling and worrying at the same time. Startling because the information itself is fantastical in nature, and worrying because of the apparent disregard of national security in leaving allegedly classified information laying around in a large collection of notes to be published at will by anyone who sees fit. This flies in the face of what we know about the real James Jesus Angleton, spymaster extraordinaire.

With this in mind, we at Reality Uncovered decided to do a little fact checking of our own.

Will the real Angleton family please stand up.

The goal of our investigation couldn’t be simpler; Verify or disprove the existence of the grandson of the late James Jesus Angleton, said to be a living in Florida, Miami. What better way to start than to go straight to the source, i.e. the known family of James Jesus Angleton as documented in his obituary, printed in the New York Times of May 12, 1987[9].

Excerpt:
“Mr. Angleton is survived by his wife, Cicely d’Autremont; a son, James Charles Angleton, of Los Angeles, and two daughters, Guru Sangat Kaur[10], of Great Falls, Va., and Lucy d’Autremont Angleton, of New Mexico. He also leaves a brother, Hugh Angleton of Boise, and two sisters, Carmen Mercedes Angleton of Rome and Delores Guarnieri of Florence, Italy.”

With the above information in hand, Reality Uncovered researcher “Wormwood” conducted a thorough genealogical search and found the contact details for all of the immediate family of James Jesus Angleton listed in his obituary. Reality Uncovered co-administrator “Access Denied” was volunteered to make contact with the family, and a few days later spoke with Lucy Angleton, daughter of James Jesus Angleton, on the telephone.

Lucy confirmed to Access Denied that James Jesus Angleton didn’t have any grandchildren living in Florida, nor did he have any grandchildren by the name of James Angleton Jr., James Jesus Angleton Jr., James Angleton III or any other derivative of the name. Lucy also kindly put Access Denied in touch with another member of the family, a person related to one of her uncle’s, who confirmed the exact same thing.

We now knew for sure that the information attributed to James Jesus Angleton must be bogus, so we set about finding out who the mysterious “grandson” really is.

We already knew from Bob Collins’ statements in Exempt from Disclosure that James Jesus Angleton Jr. was alleged to be a banker working in Miami, Florida. This same information was told to us by Dr. Christopher “Kit” Green via email in response to questions by Ryan Dube of Reality Uncovered, and was also confirmed in an email exchange between the authors of this article and Jack Sarfatti, by way of Jack Sarfatti’s email discussion list.

Extract from Kit Green email of January 20, 2007:

“I have no idea what Collins means by the whole Angleton thing with the emails, address differences, and Broadbent. I had no idea that Steve was in touch with the Grandson. But, if it is the real Grandson, he could probably trust the man…the stories about what he found in his grandfather’s diaries are things I have only heard third hand. I do know:

1. Collins is in touch, or was, with Angleton’s real grandson…the Vice President of the Bank in Florida. The same guy with the stories about what his grandfather and father told him, and the diaries.

2. That guy was also in touch with me, over a year ago, about a serious medical condition in his family. In that discussion he referred to his Grandfather often  (who I knew, but not well)…but never about the UFO and alien stuff. He also was in touch for a while with Hal, and Gordon, and others. What they forwarded to me from him about the Soap Opera (never a part of my discussions with him) was somewhat as tough to believe as some of the most sane of John Lear’s statements. So, for a while at least…Collins was in touch with the right guy.

3. He had a falling-out with Collins over what Collins put in his book:

he was furious. It was not that it was not true, and not that it wasn’t what he had said…but the same as others have had problems with. Bob and sworn secrecy and privacy…and broke the rules. I saw those emails.

At that time, he broke off all contacts with Collins. I have no clue if he is back in touch or not. Or, if in touch, with the same and the real guy…”

Extract from email to Jack Sarfatti’s discussion group by Jack Sarfatti, January 3, 2007:

“For the record I never saw or had in my possession any official military record of Robert Collins. I never saw his DD-214. My information is based on e-mail hearsay from at least one reliable source. Be that as it may. Exempt from Disclosure has some interesting details including the connection to James Jesus Angleton JJA. I can confirm now that indeed it is almost certain that JJA’s grandson JA Jr has been running RMC [Robert M.Collins] in a significant way. JA Jr was and may still be a Sr VP Hemisphere Bank in Miami and is head of Former Intelligence Officer’s Association Chapter in Miami…”

Using this information, it was a simple task to locate the email address and contact details for the James Angleton Jr. person alleged to be the grandson of JJA. His name and the corresponding bank email address was found on the website of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO/see Appendix A)[11], later renamed to the Ted Shackley Chapter of the AFIO. The email address, James.Angleton@hnbus.com, confirmed the bank was indeed the Hemisphere National Bank[12] as mentioned by Jack Sarfatti in the email above. Hemisphere National changed its name to Republic Federal in early 2007[13], with James Angleton’s email address, James.Angleton@Federalrepublic.com, also changing on the AFIO website to reflect the change. We also discovered another email address used by Angleton, namely Jim_Angleton@msn.com, which is present on his personal biography (see Appendix B) in an application[14] posted by the City of Miami and therefore a public record. Later, Collins confirmed both email accounts as being grandson Angleton Jr.’s.

Back in early 2007, we discovered for ourselves that the James Angleton Jr. who was in contact with Bob Collins was indeed the same James Angleton Jr. who worked at the bank. A highly-charged discussion was taking place on Jack Sarfatti’s email discussion list concerning the distribution of plagiarized notes by Angleton Jr. which wound up in Exempt from Disclosure. I wrote to Angleton using the Hemisphere National Bank email address on February 12, 2007. He replied just a short time later:

“Dear Mr. Broadbent,

Thank you for introducing yourself. This email address is strictly used for business purposes. I am not interested in this topic and yes, some out there use my last name. Please do not forward their gossip. I hope you will understand the true spirit of this final communication for privacy as it is intended. All the best, Jim.”

I replied one more time by asking him if he had a different email address he could use, to which he responded:

“If you are referring to bantering by Dr. Sarfatti and Robert Collins, I have knowledge of their conduct. Other than this, the internet is full of frauds, wanna-be’s and crazies. For this reason is why I really do not reply back and refer it to my security department.  Do you feel my life is in danger?”

Less than a day later, on February 13th, Bob Collins sent this short one line email to the main discussion list:

“Broadbent, JA Jr turned you off politely didn’t he? Please learn…..Rmc”

My email to James Angleton was sent to him only and to no one else. The fact that Collins knew Angleton had “turned me off politely” proved beyond any doubt they were in contact with each other.

To be on the safe side, I emailed Collins on May 30, 2009 and asked him some specific questions related to his Angleton contact:

Stephen Broadbent wrote: [to Collins]

Thanks for being so patient with me.
When you have contacted Angleton in Florida, have you used the
bank email address or only the msn email address? Have you spoken
to him on the telephone at the bank, or only at home? Did you
have any contact with Junior’s father who died in 2004?

Thanks again,
Steve

Collins wrote: [to Broadbent]:
All of that

This email response confirms critical information. The Angleton Jr. that he is in contact with uses both the bank and msn.com email addresses, he has spoken to him both at work and home and furthermore confirms that Junior’s father died in 2004, information that would be essential in uncovering the true family history.

To the casual observer however, it appeared the Florida James Angleton was who he alleged to be. The link to the Association of Former Intelligence Officers is a massive clincher for most people and that he also appears to be a respectable banker only serves to cement that. Upon hearing that James Angleton was actually not who he was alleged to be, Jack Sarfatti found it extremely difficult to believe based on the AFIO link alone:

Fri 01/05/2009 00:53

how do you explain this?

http://www.geocities.com/afiomdc/ci.html

We will come to the AFIO information shortly. A search at the Republic Federal Bank website confirms the man is indeed named James Angleton Jr. and also reveals that he is the Senior Vice President of Real Estate[15]. This of course rules out the possibility of someone by another name simply using the Angleton name for there own purposes. Or so it would appear.

Bob Collins, as we already know, was another, who was utterly convinced based on flimsy evidence, as the email exchange below will illustrate. He had earlier asked me “how could someone with no technical background just make that stuff up?”

Broadbent email to Collins dated April 21, 2009:

I agree with you about the technical background. That is of course assuming he didn’t have help preparing those notes – from someone with a technical background.

The next question may seem strange at first glance, but who was it, who told you, that Angleton was JJA’s grandson?

Collins’ reply dated Tue April 21, 2009 17:07:

Stop making things up. You make no sense, the guy[s] a Banker, there would be no purpose as a Banker to make things up or get a tech person to help him, then that tech person would have to know something about super conductors, this is beginning to sound crazy. As for grandson look it up, it’s all over the Internet….do the research…..Rmc

Having already learned the Angleton family had no such relation in Florida, we went trawling through the paper trail in order to prove it once and for all. I believe the term for this is known as “Doing the research”.

Just who is the Fake Angleton?

In order to trace the Florida Angleton family tree, we needed as many details as possible in order to make the search both accurate and less time consuming. Fortunately for us, we had RU researcher “Wormwood” on our side.

Searches on the internet turned up two obituaries [Appendix C & D] for the father of James Angleton Jr., which ties in with what we already knew: He died in 2004 of a brain tumor, as confirmed by several people and reported in several locations, but most notably by Bob Collins in the email exchange dated April 30, 2009 quoted further above.

The February-March, 2007: “Showdown”, posting of Dan Smith’s Blog briefly mentions the same thing:

“JA1 died in 1987.  JA2 developed a brain tumor in ‘01 and died in ‘04.”[16]

There was also another reference by Kit Green to Angleton Jr. in another email to Broadbent about Angleton Sr.’s illness:

” I exchanged a couple of emails once, with the grandson…never
met, and never even talked on the phone…but we never
discussed a thing about the Grand-dad. It was all because he needed some
information about progression of brain tumours. He was only
interested in me and me with him for NeuroRadiological
reasons…never a snippet about UFO’s or anything like that.”[17]

Having located the obituaries for Angleton Sr., we now had the dates we needed in order to untangle the mysterious web that had been woven in Florida.

As with any good story it has a beginning. As far as we can determine it started in 1989 with James Angleton Sr.’s claim of being the nephew of James Jesus Angleton in the Miami Herald article ANGLETON‘S OFTEN CONFUSED WITH EX-CIA CHIEF UNCLE [18] (see Appendix E). This was a strange find. We expected to see claims of him being the son of James Jesus Angleton, for Junior to be the grandson or no claims at all, but nephew? Research of public records into the Angletons who live in the Miami area, located the James Angleton Sr. referenced by this article. It also showed him as having a son named James Angleton Jr., thus proving the link between the two. It’s clear the reference in the Miami Herald is to Angleton Sr. due to his age as the article states he was an interpreter during the Korean War and the reference to his involvement as president of the Biscayne Boulevard Chamber of Commerce points directly to Angleton Sr. as per his obit (see Appendix C & D). However, the reference in Exempt from Disclosure states, its Angleton Jr., a Miami grandson, while the article refers to Angleton Sr. as a nephew not a grandson.

In addition to this, genealogy records on Ancestry.com by various families related to the real James Jesus Angleton eg. Mason, Alexander, Snodgrass, etc. and other public records do not support the Junior Angleton’s claim of being the grandson of James Jesus Angleton, nor does it support his father being the son of or even the nephew of James Jesus Angleton.

Early in 2001, Collins too appears to be in a state of confusion, labelling JJA Jr. as the son of JJA.

From: “Dr. J. Cesare Sarfatti”
To: Robert Collins
Subject: Re: James Angleton Sr’s alleged CIA notes on Jack Sarfatti
Date: Sat, Feb 17, 2001, 6:26 PM
Robert Collins wrote:

“Jack S; remember that last email and that “guy” doing “Gilbert and
Sullivan” tricks ? Well, he thought same of your answer…That “guy” happens
to be JJA jr or the son of JJA see http://home.sprintmail.com/~rigoletto/reports/tim_james_angleton.html “[19]

Of course, this seems to indicate that Collins was speaking with the Angleton Sr. (son of JJA) not Angleton Jr. and Collins is using the same initials for all three of them. Others also noted this incongruence. Later Collins apparently straightened it out to James Angleton Sr. and James Angleton Jr. as son and grandson of James Jesus Angleton.

As already noted, James Angleton Sr. passed away in 2004 with two obituaries being written. Again, in the obituaries we see references that match Olympia Ross’ clip ANGLETONS OFTEN CONFUSED WITH EX-CIA CHIEF UNCLE. Namely, Angleton Sr. was part of a “governmental intelligence agency for over 20 years”, president of the Biscayne Boulevard Chamber of Commerce and served in the air force during the Korean War.

Now we can deal with Angleton Sr.’s claim of being the nephew of James Jesus Angleton. We already know the James Jesus Angleton family has denied any relationship, but let’s further show how unlikely the relationship of Angleton Sr. being the son of James Jesus Angleton’s brother as stated in the Miami Herald.

James Angleton Sr. (DOB: 1932) was a native of New Jersey according to his obit (see Appendix C). His obit also lists Henry (DOB: abt 1929) and Eddie [Edward] Angelo (DOB: abt 1933) as his brothers. This adds another layer of confusion as the two brothers have a different last name. James was the middle child, thus Eddie couldn’t be from an earlier marriage. They all appear to be members of the Greek Orthodox Church. Certainly, James Angleton Sr. was deeply involved in the Greek Orthodox Church according to the obituaries.

Yet, the real James Jesus Angleton’s family were a Catholic family. James Jesus Angleton’s father, James Hugh Angleton, was born in Illinois. James Jesus Angleton’s mother, Carmen, was born in Mexico. They lived in Italy when the father, James Hugh Angleton, worked for the National Cash Register. The family has no Greek background whatsoever, nor are they in any way Greek Orthodox and there no records showing that James Jesus Angleton’s family ever even lived in New Jersey. The same applies to his brother Hugh Rolla Angleton.  James Hugh Angleton and his wife raised their first two children, sons, in Idaho, and that was also where the third child, Carmen, was born. In 1927, they moved to Dayton, Ohio where their fourth child, Delores, was born. Finally in December 1933, the family moved to Milan, Italy when James Hugh Angleton’s position changed within NCR[20].

Now simple arithmetic comes into play. Not only does the claim by James Angleton Sr. that he is the nephew of James Jesus Angleton not have any support as far as public records and other references show, but a comparison of birth dates reveals an unavoidable fact. Not only did James Hugh and Carmen’s, second child, Hugh Rolla (DOB: June 1920), not have a son named James Angleton, but also Hugh Rolla would have only been eleven (11) years old at the time of Angleton Sr’s birth. Any other siblings would be even younger. Furthermore, James Jesus (DOB: 9 Dec 1917), himself, would have been only fourteen (14) years old when Angleton Sr. was born – not to mention he would have been only thirteen (13) years old when Angleton Sr. was conceived! Any claims by Angleton Sr. that he is the son or nephew of James Jesus Angleton just don’t hold up. As Angleton Sr.’s house of cards falls, so do the claims attributed to his son Angleton Jr.

James Jesus Angleton, James Angleton Sr. and James Angleton Jr.

Spot the odd one out!
From left to right: James Jesus Angleton[21], James Angleton Sr[22]., James Angleton Jr[23].

Still we are not done, during this investigation attempts were made to contact the Angleton Sr. Family in Florida. Unable to get in touch with Penelope (Penny) Kays Angleton, Angleton Sr.’s widow and Angleton Jr.’s mother, we found contact had been made by another researcher with one of the other family members. Unfortunately, the family member balked at explaining why Angleton Sr. had a different last name than his brothers, but did verify that James Angleton Sr. indeed had two brothers named Edward and Henry Angelo. Public records also show that the oldest brother also has an alias of Henry Angelo I and Henry Angelo III (this may be Henry’s son), which is another familiar touch as grandson Angleton has also been known as Angleton III.

With these additional pieces of information, we gained Angleton Sr.’s marriage certificate by looking through the Florida marriage records available on Ancestry.com. For 1954/55 we find the following record:

James Angelo married Penelope Kays in 1955 Dade county, Volume 1527,  Certificate #2599.

We have a match. Penelope Kays is Penny Angleton’s maiden name and Angelo is the same surname as his two brothers, Henry and Eddie. James Angleton Sr. isn’t even an Angleton! Now who was the Angleton Sr.’s father?  Checking New Jersey 1930 census records for an Angelo with only one child at that time named Henry born abt 1929 we find only one record, in Warwick, Orange, New York, with parents named as being Henry and Mary Angelo. Henry Angelo was from Greece.

The final nail was fast approaching. We now know sometime after Angleton Sr.’s marriage and prior to 1973 James Angelo changed his and his family’s name to Angleton. It’s still a mystery as to why, with the best speculation being he wanted to anglicise his name for political and business purposes. He did run as a mayoral candidate under the Angleton name in the 1973 City of Miami Primary as per his obit and confirmed by the Miami-Dade County Elections Department[24].

With all of the bits and pieces falling into place nicely, just one more document was needed in order to prove beyond any doubt that James Angleton Sr., and therefore James Angleton Jr., could not be related to the late James Jesus Angleton. The state of Florida make death certificates available as part of the public records. The required information was sent in along with the purchase order and a week later James Angleton Sr.’s death certificate (link removed per request) arrived and confirmed what we already knew. The surviving spouse’s maiden name is indeed Penelope Kays and Angleton Sr. was born in S. Orange, New Jersey to parents Henry and Mary Angelo.  (Note: the death certificate is available and  can be viewed on request by those wanting to see verification of this for themselves.) It may never be known why James Angelo changed the family name or why he claimed to be the nephew of James Jesus Angleton. The fact of the matter is he did and he was in no way whatsoever related to the late spymaster.

Perhaps an even greater mystery is why Angleton Jr. decided to follow in his father’s footsteps, continuing the false claim of being a relative of James Jesus Angleton. We only know according to Caryn Anscomb[25]:

“The first known contact that JJA’s grandson, JA, Jr., had with a ufologist was with Richard Boylan in 1998.”

We also know it was four to five months after Michael Wolf Kruvant’s death[26] that Collins is in contact with Angleton Jr. on or before February 2001. There is speculation that Boylan’s, ex-NSA informant, Jesse[27], is one and the same as Angleton Jr., and while there are some reasons to suspect this to be the case, no evidence has been firmly established. However, Tim Cooper was also in contact with Angleton Jr. by at least March 26, 2000, whereby, they had a 45-minute chat on the phone about how Mangold’s book irritated his family for years, which establishes Cooper’s involvement with Angleton by at least this date.[28]

Who is James Angleton Jr.? We know he is the V.P. of Real Estate for the Federal Republic Bank and his resume as listed by the City of Miami shows heavy involvement in community activities including the Miami Chapter of Association of Former Intelligence Officers.  Other than the statement about twenty-five years involvement in real estate, little else is known about his career. As with the father, we dug deeper and revealed some startling surprises.

“James Angleton Jr. has been named as a new board member for the Jackson Memorial Foundation’s Jackson Metropolitans. He will help the Jackson Mets raise funds for various high-tech projects and cutting edge treatments at Jackson. Angleton is vice president/senior real estate lender at TotalBank in Miami. He began his banking career in 1980 after graduating from the University of Miami with degrees in finance and political science.”[29]

Angleton Jr. was hired August 6, 2001 from TotalBank to a yet-to-be-created position with the United Teachers of Dade (UTD), which he left sometime in 2004 or earlier amid a huge scandal to head up a golf tournament company[30] and then on to the Hemisphere National Bank[31].

Miami-Dade Union Drops Suit Against Whistleblower. When the United Teachers of Dade (UTD) reached a settlement with former president Pat Tornillo over the repayment of some of the dues he appropriated for his personal use, it received coverage in the Miami Herald. But there hasn’t been a peep about UTD and the American Federation of Teachers dropping their lawsuit against former UTD Chief Financial Officer James Angleton Jr., the man who called in the FBI when he discovered Tornillo’s crimes.

After the FBI raid and the establishment of an AFT administratorship, Angleton was suspended without pay – even though at the time Tornillo was still collecting a paycheck. The union subsequently filed suit against Angleton, claiming it was the victim of Angleton’s “professional negligence” for not ferreting out Tornillo’s misappropriations sooner.

That charge was an obvious frivolity, since Tornillo’s escapades were the subject of numerous reports on local television, and UTD was many months delinquent in paying its state and national dues because of its financial troubles. Angleton has moved on, and is currently the senior vice president of Hemisphere National Bank in Miami.” [32]

Indeed, what were the details in this lawsuit against Angleton? This was a hot news item that ran in the Miami Herald for a couple of years. Needless to say, Angleton Jr.’s and Albaum’s roles seem questionable. Just how can the Chief Financial Officer who handles the books and checks NOT know what’s going on? Albaum even admitted they saw the bills, but paid them anyway without question. What part of fiscal responsibility didn’t Albaum and Angleton Jr. understand? Rebecca Wakefield reached a similar conclusion in her article for the Miami New Times, “Hot for Teachers Share”.

“…Actually, no matter who leads the union, its health requires a vigilant membership that demands transparency. Tornillo got away with so much for so long because others let him. Here are a few highlights from two lawsuits UTD and its parent, the American Federation of Teachers, filed against Tornillo and other former union officials and employees:

One lawsuit, filed last year, charges that Tornillo, former union president Murray Sisselman, and their wives had been “systematically looting” union coffers since at least 1990, making off with more than three million dollars.

James Angleton, Jr. met Tornillo when his bank (TotalBank) loaned the union money to build a headquarters on Biscayne Boulevard. In August 2001, Tornillo offered him a $135,000 gig as the union’s chief financial officer. Boss man had been siphoning union money for years. Why would he suddenly want to create a new position and hire an outsider who would inevitably discover the mess in the books?

The answer, according to the lawsuit, was that Angleton was happy to cover up Tornillo’s malfeasance in order to enrich himself and his friends. He hired as consultants long-time friend David Albaum and Robert Heber, an ex-spy who helped Angleton start up the Miami chapter of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (even, stupidly, listing the UTD building as a principal place of business). Albaum collected $288,043 for 18 months of advising his buddy. Heber got $48,084. “It is unclear what work Heber performed for UTD or Angleton,” alleges the lawsuit.

Angleton made liberal use of signature stamps for both Tornillo and Johnson, thus getting around the necessary dual approvals for spending union money. He fired Grant Thornton, the accounting firm that had audited the union’s books for years, and hired another firm, Cummings-Grayson, which also proved inept and is also included in the UTD lawsuit.

Angleton also, the lawsuit claims, mismanaged the construction of the union building to the degree that an $11 million project eventually cost $19 million. Angleton and Albaum loaned the sinking union money at mind-blowing rates — $76,000 interest over five months on a loan of $150,000. Another Angleton associate, attorney Richard Krinzman (a former Friends of WLRN board chairman), also loaned UTD money — $100,000, for which he received $10,000 in interest over just three months. Krinzman at the time was representing a developer in its attempt to buy a HUD building for the elderly that UTD owned. He also was the attorney for a company owned by Angleton and his father, a clear conflict of interest. To cover up all this and more, Angleton presented false numbers to the union’s executive board and local banks.

By April 2003 the union’s serious financial problems were becoming known. So Angleton ran to the FBI and tattled on Tornillo. Then he gave the Miami Herald a compelling story about how sickly Murray Sisselman had confessed Tornillo’s crimes, picturesquely, over a meal at the Rascal House. Conveniently, Sisselman was dead and couldn’t confirm this version of events. After spending 18 months looking at its ledgers, the union decided in October to sue Angleton and Albaum.[33]

Further back in the ’80s you will find that Angleton Sr. and Angleton Jr. were involved in real estate, motels and restaurants chains. The whole Angleton/Angelo family deals in real estate and construction. Both Angleton’s were activists for cleaning up Biscayne Boulevard, which was becoming a drug and red-light district.  No doubt in part to protect their investments. Angleton Jr. also has done considerable charity work to his credit, but which also seems to be a requirement as entrance to and movement among the upper echelon of Miami society for political and business contacts.

Let’s play intelligence games!

Just how did the Association of Former Intelligence Officers get into the act? In March 2001, James Angleton Jr. along with Robert A. Heber and Thomas R. Spencer Jr. incorporated (see Appendix G) the “Miami-Dade Chapter of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers” at the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations. This was after Angleton Jr.’s contact with Tim Cooper, Puthoff and Collins.[34] The Chapter status was active until dissolved September 16, 2005. It was replaced by a more informal organization; the Ted Shackley Miami Chapter of AFIO, which is currently still active.

This was apparently the same year, 2001, that Angleton Sr.’s brain tumor was discovered. Does this incorporation have any link to Angleton Sr.’s claim in his obituary with text given by the family of being part of a “governmental intelligence agency for over 20 years”, even though in the Olympia Ross article that government mission was “to locate, rehabilitate and repaint older buildings”. Then again, maybe it’s Spencer’s long-term desire to be a spook[35] that brought him together with Angleton and Heber to create the Miami-Dade Chapter. Since both Angleton Jr. and Heber were implicated in the UTD scandal it might be of value to take a look at these two other individuals as Angleton Jr. has already been covered. The following biographies were found on the Internet.

“Thomas R. Spencer, Jr.- CNP 1996; life member Association of Former Intelligence Officers 1; senior partner, Spencer & Klein, P.A. 2 ; author, Jury Trials in Commercial Cases, Florida Bar Journal, March 1982, “Florida Small Business Practice,” Florida Bar Journal, 1987, and other journal pieces; member, Dade County and American Bar Associations, Florida Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Federalist Society 3, Federal Bar Association, International Bar Association, Republican Lawyers Association, and the Foreign Trade Association; founder and former chairman, Film Society of Miami, Inc., Miami Film Festival; president, University of Miami Alumni Association; life member, Atlantic Circle, and MartindaleHubbell Preeminent Lawyers of America.”[36]

Spencer was also one of the primary attorneys for Foutanga Dit Babani Sissoko, a West African multimillionaire philanthropist, who turns out to have fraudulently obtained his money.

“A week before the dinner [with President Clinton], Mr. Sissoko had been arrested in Europe on a United States warrant and charged with trying to smuggle two Vietnam-era military helicopters out of Miami to Africa and offering a $30,000 bribe to a United States Customs agent.”[37] Sissoko, was later convicted of gratuity a reduced felony count among other things, but not before he gave Spencer and the other two defense lawyers a $65,000 Mercedes Benz from stolen money, which Spencer, while shocked, will probably keep it because he paid taxes on it.”[38] [39]

“Thomas R. Spencer Jr., of Spencer & Klein, has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO) in McLean, VA. The AFIO is the national research and resource organization developing policy for the intelligence community, Congress and the public. Spencer practices in Miami and Washington, DC.”[40]

There is less information on Heber, but enough to wonder what he was being paid for when hired by Angleton Jr. for UTD work.

“Robert A. Heber is former U.S. ARMY Aviator and Vietnam veteran who served as Enlisted, Warrant Officer, and as a Commissioned Officer with the final rank of Major in Military Intelligence. He served in Vietnam as an Aircraft Commander and Air Operations Officer for Headquarters II Field Force and also served as an Intelligence Officer with the Special Operations Group of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). While with the CIA, he had experience in counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, para-military operations and the collection and dissemination of intelligence.  He holds a TOP SECRET security clearance with the Department of Defense. His civilian career has included positions with the Sikorsky Aircraft and Pratt & Whitney divisions of United Technologies Corporation as well as with the Cessna Aircraft Company.  He holds Commercial pilot ratings for single and multi-engine aircraft as well as helicopters and served as a combat helicopter flight instructor at the U.S. Army Aviation School on his return from Vietnam. Since his retirement from United Technologies in early 1997, he has been a management consultant providing aviation and security consulting services to various individuals and organizations including the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defence.” [41]

Heber had also incorporated DADE AVIATION SERVICES, INC. between 1992 and 1993 before it was dissolved as well as a couple of other organizations, GRYPHON INTERNATIONAL, INC. (2002 and currently active) and GRYPHON GLOBAL SOLUTIONS LLC (2005-2007).

In 2004, Angleton Jr., is listed as president [42] of the Ted Shackley Chapter. Speculatively speaking, he has a political reason for being associated with James Jesus Angleton via his father’s claim of being James Jesus’ nephew as he lists the Ted Shackley Chapter in his biography. It could also be of benefit to Heber in Homeland Security and intelligence work to have an association with the family of the famous CIA spymaster provided he is aware of the claim. This leads one to consider if Spencer and Heber are not only colleagues, but also most likely friends of Angleton Jr. Could they be at least close enough to know Angleton’s two brothers are named Angelo? Did they have knowledge that Angleton Sr. and Junior were passing themselves off as being related to James Jesus Angleton?

If we back up to 2004 again we find another interesting event sponsored by The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and The Ted Shackley Miami Chapter of AFIO[43] (see Appendix H).  The Chapter scheduled an event with Edgar Mitchell and Hal Puthoff. Puthoff is also a figure in Exempt from Disclosure. It was Puthoff who introduced Collins to the Angleton Jr., who claimed to be James Jesus’ Miami grandson back in 2001.[44] Collins was even aware that grandson Angleton Jr. wanted Puthoff to come to Florida and talk about zero point energy.[45] The event was cancelled due to a hurricane (see Appendix I). However, it’s clear there was an earlier connection with Angleton Jr. and Puthoff. Angleton had also given copies of his alleged Einstein notes to Puthoff, as described in early 2007 at the Reality Uncovered forum:

“JJA (Jesse Angleton Jr.) sent the excerpts of his alleged grandfather’s CIA notes to several people, allegedly four to six individuals starting in 2001. It was revealed to Jack’s thread that Hal Puthoff and Boylan were two of these folks. Bob was obviously a third. The identities of the remaining individuals have not been revealed.[46]

When one considers the subject detail of these notes, you could be forgiven for thinking they were written with a very specific target audience in mind. Why would James Jesus Angleton be in possession of notes describing successful teleportation experiments in the 1980’s is anybody’s guess – considering he left the CIA years earlier. Another fringe technology to receive the Angleton/Einstein notes treatment is magnetic wave (“EM wave”) antigravity propulsion, a subject that crops up repeatedly around the message boards and email lists of the UFOlogy circuit.

As with the actual identities involved in this story, the notes themselves do not stand up to closer scrutiny.

Where have we seen that before?

For anyone who doesn’t know Jack Sarfatti, he is a cosmology physicist with a Physics BA from Cornell and a PhD from the University of California who runs a popular online discussion group that deals with a number of fringe physics and technology subjects. In 2006 during a discussion around the alleged notes that Bob Collins published in Exempt from Disclosure, Jack Sarfatti recognized that many of the physics concepts attributed to the “Einstein quotes” were actually concepts Sarfatti himself publicly wrote about in 1996.

It didn’t take very long for several members of the email list to recognize that the notes quoted in Bob Collins book were actually direct, almost word-for-word copies lifted from Jack Sarfatti’s “QShip”[47] writings from 1998, which can still be viewed online today.

The specific quote identified as clear plagiarism came from page 158 in Collins’ book, and quoted earlier in this report.  Before long, other members of the email list began identifying other sections of the alleged “Angleton Notes” that held text directly copied from Sarfatti’s earlier public writings.

A few examples of clear plagiarism are shown below. Keep in mind that Angleton began releasing these “notes,” allegedly from the journals of his CIA grandfather, around 2001. Jack wrote his quotes in 1996 through 1998:

JJA Jr: “Dr. Einstein expanded …. The fuselage of the craft was more liken to a high temperature superconductor to which the occupants do not feel the g forces at high accelerations or sharp turns. Their is a direct correlation to mindlinkage via headband and handpanels.” [23]

Jack: “I mean his remarks that the fuselage of the craft is a high temperature superconductor, that the occupants do not feel high-g forces in sharp right-angle turns at very high apparent accelerations to the external observer, and that the ship is controlled in a direct mind-link between the pilot and the craft via the headband and the hand-imprint panels.”

JJA Jr: “The qualitative picture is a local field of positive cosmological constants contributing to the local metric field in a small boundary layer around the skin of the craft. The layer was controlled by the EM brainwave of the pilot. The pilot also has a Q* type of field.

Jack: “…the qualitative picture a local field of positive cosmological constant contributing to the local metric field in a small boundary layer around the skin of the space craft. The detailed structure of this boundary layer is somehow controlled by the EM brain-waves of the pilot in addition to the pilot’s Q* field, and other auxiliary EM fields and giant Q’s built into the ship’s architecture.”

It became clear to everyone following the discussion that somewhere along the line, whatever excerpts Angleton Jr. was sending out to Collins and others were clearly *not* from any sort of secret CIA journal, but instead copied from existing public texts that had existed on the Internet for several years.

The response from this episode was tremendous. It revealed a great deal about the inner workings of the sources that supplied allegedly secret government inside information to Bob Collins, and which Collins subsequently published in his book. In an effort to defend himself from claims that *he* had plagiarized, Collins emailed Jack Sarfatti a quote from an early email by James Angleton Jr. from March 9, 2001 which detailed how he described his “grandfather’s” notes. His email to Bob Collins (and others) read as follows.

“From: kenya08@xxxxxx.net

He (grandfather) wrote it down and then added sentences to like introduce what that portion of the equation stood for and put it away. He used index cards that have aluminum threads so you can not photo copy or fax eats toner as the page is all black. I guess the aluminum shines while the light from the copier goes over it. They are written in pencil of a light gray, faint script. He details that the presentation was 4 hours. First hour was articulating the many departments used to breakdown and put together. Second hour was reading the equations and expanding on each. Third hour was lunch with speeches from the AF and Navy. Fourth hour was a demonstration of the equations in testing. At that time they claimed how they were perfecting the wobble of the vehicle. A filmstrip was shown of an actual one of theirs and what we had to date different. At the end of the presentation was a 4 min tape of ALF who died months later. [Alien Life Form, mighty original hey?] So, according to the matter, it worked sort-of and then was perfected as mentioned before in 1973.”

Jack Sarfatti, in a subsequent email, also confirmed that Angleton Jr. began distributing his information in 2001:

“PS My first contact with Jim Angleton Jr was in 2001 when he contacted me. I had no idea of any Angleton involvement in UFOs until then. My Q-Ship paper was early 1998 based on the Corso-Birnes book and other sources that I cited none of which were any secret notes.”

Once the proof was laid out, a number of folks immediately jumped on Bob Collins, ignoring the fact that he was only quoting a source – Angleton Jr. Instead of going after Angleton Jr., the following writers accused Collins himself of plagiarism.

Dr. Christopher “Kit” Green on February 11, 2007:

“Explains a lot about the truth of the word Plagiarism. Jack is owed an apology.”

When further pressed on the issue from a private researcher, Kit responded with a defense of Angleton Jr. – stating that he knows him personally and vouches for him, and accuses Collins of plagiarizing often, as he writes on February 12th:

“The main problem I have with THIS explanation is that: a) I know Angleton, and he seems pretty straight-up…weird story but seems to not have a personality to steal language; Collins has done the same to me as seems he may have done here…often: Plagiarize.”

Dr. Eric Davis: On February 22, 2007 Dr. Eric Davis decides to chime in as well.  Could this be related to the fact that some of the Angleton notes reference teleportation – distributed around the same time Eric Davis released his Air Force teleportation paper?[48]

“All of these alleged claims are nothing but senseless, baseless rumors that have taken on a life of their own.  But it looks like most of you have already figured this out while I was traveling at a conference.  I am just now getting caught up on 600+ e-mails.

Jack needs the freedom to get back to doing physics research because this kind of internet chatter must be totally distracting.  And somehow Jack always ends up being on the receiving end of someone’s insane allegations.”

Gene Loscowski: The following month, Gene Loscowski, – aka Gene Lakes, aka Paul McGovern, aka Nick Weston, aka Rick Doty aka Insert-name-here[49] – a shadowy persona that exists only as an email identity and heavily involved in promoting the 2005 Serpo hoax, attempts to corroborate something Angleton had told Collins.

“On 3/8/07, Sonata <Sonata@donet.com> wrote:

Angleton also mentioned some operations were moved into the Utah mountains. The “metal” is that room temp super-conducting material……Rmc”

Gene Loscowski wrote:

“Heard this same story”

When Bob Collins himself realized that the Angleton/Einstein notes contained extracts from Sarfatti’s text of 1998, he came up with an “explanation” for this very uncomfortable fact:

Dan Smith writes:
“Between 1998 and 2001 the bulk of his fathers notes were stolen from a warehouse.  Some of the remaining notes were water damaged in a hurricane after 2001.  Also, these notes had been reviewed by the FBI, before they were stolen.

After being stolen, JA, Jr., attempted to retrieve the copies that he had already distributed.  Some of these returned copies were then transmitted to Bob Collins and appeared in the 2nd edition of EfD.  Somewhere in that confusion, it appears that some of Jack’s and Mondanese’s writings were collated into the copies of the original notes, and this is what had appeared in Collins’ book.” [50]

The above explanation is rendered absolutely meaningless when one considers the notes are not genuine in the first place as Angleton Jr. isn’t who he claims to be. The sole reason for Sarfatti’s own words being used in writings allegedly from 1952 is quite simple: They were copied, or in other words plagiarized, in order to lend some kind of credence to a bunch of concocted clap-trap.

Earlier, before all of these plagiarism revelations in February 2006 – when RU researchers first suspected that the Florida man calling himself Angleton Jr. was not who he claimed to be – we asked Kit Green if he knew the man and whether anything he had to write was legitimate or not. Kit’s response, posted further above, indicated that Kit not only knows the Florida Angleton, but had personal dealings with him and his family.

In the email, it could be argued that Kit provides a convincing case that the “real” Angleton grandson is a “stand-up” person – the same thing he said to other researchers as quoted above.  This “defense” of Angleton Jr. also reveals the critical importance of his “grandfather’s” notes to the process, motives and agenda of the people who distribute UFO information to the public through people like Bob Collins, Bill Moore, Bruce Maccabee, Jamie Shandera, Standon Friedman, and many, many others.

We wanted to find out who it was that first introduced Bob Collins to Angleton in the first place, so we asked him via email. He responded within a few minutes:

Subject: Re: Information

I think it was Hal Puthoff, but that was in 2001. JA Jr is a banker in Miami. Sarfatti talked to him once and I several times….he doesn’t like to be pestered……Rmc

This particular response forced us to review our emails from a couple of years ago where we interviewed Hal. In the 2007 interview, Hal was asked for his opinion on the plagiarism within the Angleton Notes. He replied:

“That material (I got it from Collins) sure looked plagiarized to me from the git-go.  On this Jack and I have always agreed.  I just don’t know the source of plagiarism.  I pointed this out to Collins right away, so the ball went back into his court.”

He was quick to point out that he received the material directly from Collins, though the information from Collins and others would suggest he received it directly from Angleton. There was also no suggestion that he may have had a hand in introducing Angleton to Collins in the first place.

Email from Bob Collins to a short email list on June 12, 2008:

“Get off it, it’s not what I wish to believe, Angleton Jr. told me that story, I get very tired of being accused. He is the same Angleton that sent those Einstein notes to Hal Puthoff and I. Angleton also mentioned that guard you talk about who snapped to attention when Nixon showed up. Angleton Jr. said Be Be Rebozo , Jack Gleason, Angleton Sr. and Angleton Jr. were there.

Angleton Jr. said his father told him to be quiet and NOT say a word; Jr said the Alien smelled really bad lying in that cylindrical coffin and wore a head band. He said the Alien was brought up to Homstead from a Navy Sub Base in the Caribbean

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Rebozo

I don’t run around making proclamations or claim I know all the answers, but I get accused of that! I state the “facts” as I know them and stick to those “facts.” I don’t use HYPE or try to sensationalize the information, but I sure get attacked more often than not……Rmc”

Regardless of who it was who first introduced Angleton to Collins and irrespective of who Angleton sent the notes to, it was very revealing to see all of the same names involved that we see in all other aspects of our investigation into the long-running scam that has infected certain areas of UFOlogy for over thirty years now.

We did give James Angleton Jr. several chances to clarify his own part in this story. The following is an email sent to him in late April 2009 containing several specific questions:

Subject: Request for Clarification

Hello Jim,

You may remember I contacted you in early 2007.

I am in the process of writing an article and would appreciate your cooperation with the following. I have several questions for you and all of them can be answered quickly and without any further ado.

Are you the grandson of  ‘James Jesus Angleton’, nicknamed ‘Kingfisher’, who was the Counter Intelligence (CI) Chief for the CIA, that was forced to retire Christmas Eve 1975 from the CIA? If not do you have any family relationship at all to James Jesus Angleton and if so what is it?

Did you share or in any manner provide Bob Collins or his associates any information from James Jesus Angleton’s personal, handwritten notes, which may have been taken during CIA briefings (classified or not). Do you even have such notes?

Did you share or in any manner provide Bob Collins or his associates any information from your father’s personal, handwritten notes? Alleged to be in the thousands. Do you even have such notes?

Did you relay any of the following information (or similar) to Bob Collins or one of his associates with the understanding you are the grandson or another close relative of James Jesus Angleton?

As a further concluding remark to this chapter, both Tim Cooper’s father MSgt Harry B Cooper, now deceased and Jim Angleton’s grandfather (James Jesus Angleton, Section 2, Chapter 1), also deceased in 1987, have both described early government work involving teleportation experiments. One such set of experiments was said to have taken place at Wright-Patterson AFB in early 60s. Needless to say, those early experiments ended up in disaster where solid innate matter was turned inside out as did the animals they used in the experiments. Jim Angleton’s grandfather JJA who is mentioned above related the following with Jim reading from his CIA notes. Angleton writes: The first transport blew up a rat. It literally blew up into pieces. A visitor (Alien) helped them tweak the dimensions to send the rate from point “a” to point “b.” But as of 1979, they had not been able to make a rat move. However, in the ’90s, they were successful in moving water from point “a” to point “b.” Page 137, Exempt From Disclosure, 2nd Edition, Robert M. Collins, with Richard C Doty and Timothy S Cooper, 2006.

Did you relay the following information (or similar) to Bob Collins or one of his associates with the understanding you are the grandson or another close relative of James Jesus Angleton:

“Below is an extract taken from the hundreds of personal hand written notes taken during classified CIA briefings which belonged to James J Angleton who was fired/retired form the CIA in 1974…Graciously, the grandson James Angleton provided many of the notes to these authors.” Page 157, Exempt From Disclosure, 2nd Edition, Robert M. Collins, with Richard C Doty and Timothy S Cooper, 2006.

In a previous email to me you wrote that you had:
“…knowledge of their conduct. Other than this, the internet is full of frauds, wanna-be’s and crazies… Please do not forward their gossip.”

The quotes I have pasted above are not gossip, but the actual context of a book. Any reply you give to this email can be seen as an opportunity to clarify or rebut such statements.

If you wish to talk to me about this matter, you can contact me on xxxxxxxxxx.

Best Regards,
Stephen Broadbent

Despite opening a dialogue and stating (several times) an intention to call, Angleton Jr. never did take the opportunity to answer those very simple questions in the email above.

Exempt From Facts

The wealth of evidence we have uncovered and documented within this article couldn’t be any clearer. Neither Angleton Jr. nor his deceased father have any kind of family relationship to the late James Jesus Angleton and neither of them have a background in the Intelligence services. Any and all claims of “secret” notes bequeathed to them by their father/grandfather are bogus and have absolutely no basis in reality. The knock on effect of this simple fact is one that reaches far and wide, for example, from p157-p158 Exempt from Disclosure 2nd Ed.:

“It must be emphasized that JJJA [sic] was not a technical person so the notes are sketchy and unclear in many cases. The reason for presenting this extract is to show readers the similarity between what the Los Alamos source as saying and what the “Einstein notes” say:”

As we have already determined, the “Einstein notes” are bogus and if they are being used in order to bolster the claims of a conveniently unnamed Los Alamos source, which the authors themselves disavow as being unverified documents[51], one can safely assume that those claims are also bogus. With such claims forming the basis for ludicrous “Reverse Engineering Programs” and all which that entails, i.e. so called crash retrievals and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”-type exchange programs, one must begin to wonder if the only thing these unnamed sources are good for is dissecting the plots of popular science fiction movies. The similarities between the “Einstein notes” and the claims of the LANL source would also suggest that the same people maybe involved in creating and disseminating the myth in the first place.

One must now ask the question what role Bob Collins has played in all of this. If he truly wanted to verify the information he had been given, it would have been a simple task for him to do exactly as we have done. The information we have uncovered is available both on the Internet and as part of the public record. A quick look at the ages of the three Angleton’s should have been enough to set alarm bells ringing. Sadly, as is the case with many of the other sources quoted in his book, once you start looking a little deeper into their identities and the claims attributed to them, everything simply falls apart at the seams. When pressed with this unavoidable truth, Collins becomes insulting and dismissive of any and all arguments he is presented with. Are those the actions of someone with a desire for reporting the truth or are they the actions of someone who is desperate to continue a pitiful charade on behalf of those behind the fantasy and the lies? In a very simple statement Collins himself has given the answer, “Get off it, it’s not what I wish to believe…”[52]

That group, known by us as “Scammers Inc.” are being subjected to the same level of scrutiny we have afforded to the James Angleton Jr. claims. That particular investigation has uncovered the age-old motive of greed as the driving force behind the creation of the Core Story hoax. They have discovered if you can convince enough investors that you have an extensive background in the highly secretive world of US Intelligence and were privy to the darkest of secrets involving crashed flying saucers and the technology surrounding them, the earning potential reaches high into the stratosphere. Some people clearly have more money than sense…

Latest RealityUncovered News and Updates

notes1 One thing we’ve learned here at RealityUncovered.net is that folks are very curious about all of our ongoing investigations. Every now and then we’ll receive emails from both members and non-members asking about how our investigations are going. We’ve decided to publish a monthly update to the blog outlining all ongoing investigations as well as the status on each – and any interesting tidbits we’ve learned along the way.

The Nature of Ufology Demands Secrecy

While we’re the last ones to promote non-disclosure when it comes to UFO information, one aspect of Ufology that requires secrecy is the "scoop" factor. The scoop is one of the biggest reasons Ufologists constantly fail to make any significant progress, because whether it’s researching a UFO sighting, government disclosure or any other groundbreaking story – investigators tend to lie, cheat and steal to capture story ideas and information from other researchers.

The problem with this is that the fastest person to publish the story is usually also the person who conducted the least research and verification of facts and evidence.  This has led to a field dominated by poor researchers who lack in critical-thinking skills. The confusion and doubt created by these shoddy articles lead to baseless speculation (in order to answer the points that were poorly researched), and also fuels the widening gap between the "skeptics" and "believers."

Well researched articles, on the other hand, leave very little question as to the truth. And for anyone who’s truly passionate about the truth – that’s what really matters. Some believers, due to a concept called cognitive dissonance sometimes ignore the evidence to protect the carefully built belief system in their head – but for the folks who are still grounded in reality, these well-researched and evidence-based articles are critical to a good understanding of what’s really going on. What this means, however, is that for good research to get carried out, it needs to be done under a certain degree of privacy and protection from other Ufology researchers – so while we can’t share all of the details about our ongoing investigations, we’ll provide what we can.

Ongoing RealityUncovered Research

The following topics are those that RU became interested in over the course of our multiple-year investigation into first Project Serpo, and then as that expanded into MJ-12 and a much larger 30+ year Ufology scam. The following side investigations are ongoing and at various degrees of completion. If you have any interest in joining RU investigators and contributing to the research, please contact us immediately. We are now offering payment for all contributor articles.

blackhole 1. MJ-12 Investigation –  The MJ-12/Serpo story continues to shock and suprise us regarding the depth and the scope of the long-running fraudulent activity. The activity involves a group of individuals, spans several decades, and involves scientific fraud, criminal activity and in some cases outright manipulation of Ufology enthusiasts, whom the scammers have very little respect for.

2. Steven Greer – RU investigators received information regarding the earliest days of Steven Greer’s "career" in Ufology. This was long before his "Disclosure Project" and CSETI days. We continue following a lead from 2006 referencing those early activities that are not mentioned anywhere else online, and have remained covered-up for almost two decades.

3. John Callahan – John Callahan is the FAA official who spoke at the National Press Conference in  2007, and told reporters, "At the end, one of the three people from the CIA said, ‘This event never happened; we were never here; we’re confiscating all this data and you are all sworn to secrecy.’" RU investigators, in collaboration with one of our members who had access to Leslie Kean at the Coalition for Freedom of Information who set up the conference, interviewed Leslie Kean in order to contact John. Our CIA source who was at the meeting provided information (to Leslie as well) about the meeting that conflicted with John’s statement to the press, and a second source who was at the meeting also confirmed that John’s statement to the press was untrue. Leslie attempted to block all attempts to question John directly. If anyone has further information on this story and would like to contribute directly before it is published to the national press, please contact us immediately.

4. Gordon Novel – Early on in our investigations, we learned about various ongoing activities within Ufology led by Gordon Novel and his alleged organization of a "reverse engineering" project that would eventually generate a craft that could fly based on flight properties observed from UFOs. Current activities related to this project are focused on gathering funds, and our sources confirm that multiple investors have already lost significant money on this "project." RU investigators continue to follow these activities because the prime person involved has a direct relationship and history with one of the MJ-12 scammers.

5. Earthtech/Institute of Advanced Research at Austin : Anyone with information about activities (both funding and promotional activities) at this research Institute is asked to contact RU directly.

6. Hal Puthoff – RU investigators are actively following up on several leads related to Dr. Hal Puthoff’s past and current activities in the field of Ufology. If you have information related to the funding of any of his work with Ken Shoulder’s "Charge Clusters" research and patent, Blacklight Power, High Freq. Gravity Wave research, Madison Priest’s "Magic Box," or the elusive "energy device," please contact us immediately. We now pay for published contributor articles.

7. Prion research - Early leads indicate that research into the brain degenerative Prion Disease may actually be related to something called mitochondria-mediated apoptosis – and one Canadian lead suggests that one cause could possibly be related to past military weapons research.

8. Robert Baker’s GravWave (Case Closed) – Information surrounding Robert Baker’s HFGW research suggests that the science as detailed by GravWave is not valid. Oddly, the typical "persons" who’ve promoted invalid scientific research in the past are also promoting Baker’s HFGW push to International scientists and investors. RealityUncovered contributed to the JASON group’s effort in determining all scientists involved in the work and providing information about the EarthTek conference by Davis and Puthoff promoting Baker’s work. This RU case was closed after the publication of the JASON report .

Research and Write for RealityUncovered

If you have information regarding any of RU’s ongoing investigations and would like to write a feature article on any of these topics, please contact us immediately. We’re now offering payment for all contributor articles. Why waste time writing for free at other paranormal/conspiracy forums and websites, when you can get paid for your research at RU? Contact us immediately with your application – we’re looking forward to bringing you on board.

The Philosophy Within the MJ-12 Documents

Bogus MJ12 Document

Bogus MJ12 Document

According to the 2007 MUFON Report, a "mysterious" AF Colonel and Rick Doty contacted Moore initially in September of 1980.  Taking this date into consideration, RU researchers decided to dig further back into the ongoing activities of the U.S. Air Force during this time period, and any place where the same philosophy might have appeared prior to making its way to Moore in 1980.  An obvious place to look would be the Air Force just before, and just after, 1980.  The question was – where to start?

As we previously reported, the 2005 article Hawk Tales by Bruce Maccabee was written as a supplement to Robert Collins’ 2005 book Exempt from Disclosure , and it provides a number of important clues.

This article includes references to names and events that took place at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1979 and earlier.  According to Maccabee’s 1985 interview with Kellerstrass (Hawk), Kellerstrass claims that Dale Graff shared an entire litany of alien/MJ-12 stories with him while they both served on the base in 1978-1979.  At the same time, Dale Graff was working very closely with SRI and Hal Puthoff on highly classified remote viewing research.

We eventually interviewed Dale Graff and learned that, at the time of those late-night "gee wiz" speculative conversations, Kellerstrass had only limited knowledge of the RV projects Dale and Hal were working on.  Dale admitted that, at the time, he repeatedly met with his supervisor, Dr. Anthony Cacioppo, to discuss the classified remote viewing research. When asked if he’d attended any "highly classified meetings" with Dr. Cacioppo at the time, would those likely have been the Remote Viewing work?  "Absolutely," Dale answered.  At the same time Dr. Cacioppo, and to a limited degree Dale Graff as well, were also involved in Project Blue Book work going on at the base before the Project was ended.  Kellerstrass reported to Maccabee that Dale and Cacioppo were meeting with a "secret committee" to discuss the issue of UFOs.  UFO believer groups would later label this committee as "MJ-12."

Maccabee states in his introduction that Kellerstrass was “One of the main sources of information" for Exempt from Disclosure .

In the interview, Kellerstrass claims that Dale Graff, as early as 1978, was privately feeding Kellerstrass the same exact themes and ideas (the “Philosophy” as described in the 2007 MUFON document) that would eventually make their way into the early 80’s versions of the MJ-12 documents, and eventually, Project Serpo in 2005 as well.  This philosophy was injected and mixed up with the common UFO "lore" that Moore and Shandera were already feeding Doty. Their Roswell/UFO stories were taken, injected with the philosophy, and recycled back to the UFO community.

In 1978, Ernie claims that Dale Graff told him about:

(1) A secret book containing information about an “EBE” (Extra-terrestrial Biological Entity) and multiple alien races.
(2) Early history of humanity from 10,000 years ago to the time of Christ, suggesting Christ as a central theme.
(3) Captured Alien Craft/Technology and Bodies/Prisoners.
(4) Aliens as vegetarians.
(5) Their star-system having a double-star, or double-sun.

However 1979 wasn’t Dale’s first interaction with SRI – according to Paul Smith’s chronology, in 1975 Air Force FTD became the “primary funder” of the SRI research program, with Dale Graff supervising.  If true, this implies a close relationship between Dale Graff and Harold Puthoff, starting in 1975.  By 1979, this relationship would have been at least 4 years old, and Dale was soon to become a very important figure in the government’s Remote Viewing research.

Shortly after these alleged Dale-Ernie conversations in 1979, the "mysterious" AF Colonel, Rick Doty and others contacted Ufologist and author Bill Moore in September of 1980.

The Philosophy Spreads, Travels from Wright Patterson 1979 to MJ-12 1980s

Rick Doty

Rick Doty

By 1981, Doty had revealed to Moore the information about crashed saucers and dead aliens which were all compiled in the original “Aquarius” document.  The “philosophy” of this document bears striking resemblance to the “philosophy” Dale Graff was feeding Ernie Kellerstrauss during 1978/1979.

In 1980 Rick Doty began actively distributing these same ideas to Moore, and later to Howe.  Obviously, at least these two men, Doty and Graff, were reading from the same book and following the same plot. The real question is, was that plot provided to them from outside individuals?

As Moore pointed out (quote from the MUFON document):

“I do know from first-hand experience that there was a tremendous amount of government disinformation involved, and that a large proportion of what we are hearing today about malevolent aliens, underground bases and secret treaties with the U.S. government has its roots firmly planted in the Bennewitz affair. Stories of an alleged UFO crash at Aztec, New Mexico, are also a part of this picture….
[snip]
And, since connections can be shown to exist between those who are spreading it now and those who were spreading it then, both from the Bennewitz angle and from within the intelligence community, it seems reasonable to assume that those responsible for it are not satisfied that their task has been completed, even after all this time…. The real question is ‘Why?’"

Moore draws the premature and erroneous conclusion that what Doty provided to him was government disinformation.  The truth is, the disinformation could just as easily have been a group effort from a private group outside of the authority or knowledge of the U.S. government.  Are these individuals still actively trying to distribute this same philosophy? The 2005 Project Serpo debacle tells us that this is so.

The Contemporary Release of the "Philosophy"

Kit, Pat, and Hal

Kit, Pat, and Hal

This time, the same group who released the earlier MJ-12 documents attempted to use the technology of the Internet to distribute the same meme again, nearly 25 years after they started the effort in 1980.  That attempt to utilize the power of the Internet is ultimately what led to their demise.  The group which RU researchers discovered actively distributing Serpo related materials included the same folks who were central figures in the MJ12/Aquarius activity with Moore/Pratt/Shandera….that group included, in part, Robert Collins and Rick Doty.   But this time, through a counter-intelligence initiative conducted against the group by Reality Uncovered investigators, additional members of those involved alongside Doty were finally revealed. Two of these individuals included Dr. Harold Puthoff and Dr. Christopher (Kit) Green.

Those were only the "semi-public" individuals who portrayed themselves as only involved with "investigating" the releases alongside those individuals who were chosen (by allegedly "anonymous" sources) to release the information via email and the web. Their (Green and Puthoff’s) intention was to remain "under the radar," during the releases. The non-public members of the group consist of a satellite group of ex-intelligence and ex-military men – all collaborating to inject various parts of this story into the field of Ufology.  These satellite “agents” include: James Angleton Jr., an Arizona group which may or may not include a J. Lackey, and other individuals who may be posing as fake email identities (either real stolen names, or fake ones entirely) including a Paul McGovern, Gene Lakes, Herb Milton (no longer active), and Tamara Linden.  One involved individual even falsely presented himself, in person, at a UFO conference as Paul McGovern. There may still be additional individuals involved as well.

Serpo – More of the Same

The general theme of the storyline coming from Dale Graff in 1979, and Rick Doty in 1980 are now clear.  The Aquarius document and MJ12 stories originated from the same place and had the same themes, the “Philosophy” that MUFON investigators recognized from the MJ12 information, and the following ideology that came from Graff/Kellerstrass. All of those sources seek to promote the same philosophy.

(1) A secret book containing information about “EBE”, multiple alien races
(2) Early history from 10,000 years ago to the time of Christ
(3) Captured Alien Craft and Bodies/Prisoners (Genetic Engineering)
(4) Aliens as vegetarians
(5) Their star-system having a double-star, or double-sun.

In 2005, we discovered the same story recycled under the new name Project Serpo:

Original “Anonymous” posting November 2005 (Crashed Alien Ship and “Prisoner”):

“One live entity [EBE] was found hiding behind a rock. The entity was given water but declined food. The entity was later transferred to Los Alamos.”

Posted by “Anonymous” November 4, 2005 (Double-Sun):

“The planet had two suns but their angles were small and allowed some darkness on the planet depending on one’s location.”

Posted by “Anonymous” November 7, 2005 (Secret Book about “EBE” containing information about multiple Alien races – genetic manipulation also used as a theme)

“The "Red Book" lists nine different visitors . We determined recently that some of the visitors were the same type of race but a "mechanical lifeform." They were hybrid beings that were created in a laboratory rather than by natural birth.”

Posted by “Anonymous” November 9, 2005 (Early history from 10,000 years ago to the time of Christ):

“The Eben civilization was estimated to be about 10,000 years old . They evolved from another planet, not on Serpo. The original home planet of the Ebens was threatened with extreme volcanic activity. [snip]

The Ebens have been space travelers for the past 2,000 years. The Ebens first visited Earth about 2,000 years ago.

The Ufologists who were publishing and promoting this new material, actually had the insight to recognize the comment of the visitation 2000 years ago from the 1980’s Aquarius document, and even called attention to it on the Serpo website.  Ironically, they considered the “match” a form of confirmation that the new information was legitimate.  They did not realize, or could not realize, that the source in both cases was the same exact person, Rick Doty and his group.  And that’s why the material was identical.

Posted by “Anonymous” November 14, 2005 (Aliens as Vegetarians):

"As I mentioned before, the Ebens allowed us to kill the beasts for meat. The meat isn’t really bad, 899 says it tastes like Bear, which I never ate. But Ebens look at us very strange when we eat meat. Strange, they can clone creatures and other species of humans but they can’t eat meat.

Same “philosophy” and the same core story, with a whole lot of erroneous “details” thrown in for show.  But what we were looking at in 2005 was a rehash of the information Moore received in 1980 from Doty and others, Linda Howe received from Doty and others, and which Ernie Kellerstrauss allegedly received from Dale Graff in 1979.

The origin of the story appears to be between 1978 and 1980.  And the group who created it appears to be centered around the active (at the time) Remote Viewing work, which during 1979 for the Air Force, was at Wright-Patterson FTD (Dale Graff/Ernie Kellerstrass) and SRI (Hal Puthoff), and for the CIA was the Office of Science and Technology (Kit Green).

It should be noted that the involvement of particular individuals in these releases, from 1979 through 2005, does not automatically imply nefarious motives. But it does demand appropriate explanation.  False stories were injected into Ufology, a field that strives, even today, to achieve credibility.  These stories negatively impacted that credibility in a big way, especially after th 1988 UFO Live! broadcast.

Next, we will discuss a shocking additional person who was also discussing elements of this same exact philosophy in the mid-to-late 1970’s, around the same time the Graff-Kellerstrass conversations were allegedly taking place.

Remote Viewing is All About Scientology?

Tarot CardsGary Bekkum of Starstream Research responds to our last update somewhat heatedly at his blog, calling it “naive” to think that the CIA would not know what it is that they were allowing into the government’s scientific domain.  Gary writes:

“REALITY UNCOVERED’s Ryan Dube latest blog post suggests the story behind the AVIARY “Core Story” of US government contact with an intelligence not of this Earth begins with L. Ron Hubbard and the inner teachings of Scientology.”

He goes on to imply that the focus of RU is Scientology, and that we’re drawing some kind of direct connection between Scientology and the “Core Story.”  Even though the article did nothing of the sort.  The intent was to point out what religious-like beliefs can do to destroy a scientific study.

He continues:

“Dube appears so focused on the connection of key researchers at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) to Scientology that he completely overlooks the game of ‘psychic (cold) warfare’ CIA and KGB initiated at least ten or more years prior to the effort at SRI.”

In fact, the reason we overlook the cold war antics between the CIA and KGB is because they do not factor into the Core Story.  To be clear, there is virtually nothing within government or military that factors into the Core Story.  Nothing, except what the creators decided to filter into it from their own experiences during their time working within those (now declassified) projects. But those connections are superficial at best.

In response, I’ve sent Gary an email trying to clarify what the message of the last article really was.  In that email, I wrote:

“Thanks for your comments Gary – I’ve responded as well.  Based on your opening paragraph you may have misunderstood the article.

The point wasn’t that the source of the “core story” was Scientology…I think a few of  us here would agree that theory was put to bed a long time ago.

The *only* point of the post was that by allowing a religious belief system into a government research program, the government inadvertently introduced into the government scientific community a dangerous instability.  Vallee has noted in his book “Messengers of Deception,” what this instability can do within the general population – it leads to cults.  I’m simply drawing the same sort of parallel to what the government experienced within the Remote Viewing program from the 1970’s through the early 90’s.

What I find fascinating is the point where the military RV’ers – the guys who believed it was important to adhere to the “strict” documented protocols, and guys like Dale Graff who thought it was perfectly okay to allow civilian practitioners of tarot cards, meditation, and various other techniques.  Any insight into those disagreements would be very useful – if you have any documentation on that.  Dale seemed to greatly despise Ed Dames by the way…

Again – these are the sort of things one can expect from spiritual/religious based belief system being used as the foundation for a scientific study.

Best Regards,
-Ryan”

Gary asked me to post my comments, so in the spirit of openness, I’ve posted the email here just in case there were any other readers out there who may not have clearly understood our position on this.

Just remember – the Core Story was created by civilians, not government officials or military insiders.  It is based on a religious-like belief system founded on the interpretation of data that these particular folks consider “hard data,” but which others might not.  Instead of sharing the hard data with us, we get the ridiculous public version of the Core Story – which has morphed through the decades into the pathetic beast that we see today.

A Breakthrough: The Dale Graff Interview

Air Force Given the clear indications that something was going on at Wright Air Force Base during the late 1970s, possibly in parallel with either the FTD remote viewing work, the Project Blue Book activities, or both (or neither).  One thing that the timeline and the appearance of that common MJ-12 "philosophy" tells us is that all of those stories were created much earlier than when the public first received them through Ufologists Moore, Pratt and others.

In his efforts to bolster the information found in Collin’s Exempt From Disclosure ,  Bruce Maccabee lets slip a tiny detail – he received details directly from Kellerstrass that only a year later was finally made public in the form of the "MJ-12" disclosures, and provided by allegedly "anonymous" sources.

In order to determine the truth of Ernie Kellerstrass’ claims, and to better understand potential connections with the FTD remote viewing research, we decided to make contact with the elusive "Dale Graff" – that "guy in the office" who was supposedly telling Ernie stories about EBE, a book that detailed aliens visiting during the time of Christ, and more.

Dale Graff’s Current Status

Dale Graff Prior to my discussions with him, Dale Graff had just recently moved, so it took a few email exchanges to hammer out a good day and time for a conversation.  However, Dale responded positively to my initial inquiry for a phone interview to discuss his remote viewing work at FTD in the 1970’s and his recent work and books on consciousness .  I hoped to learn more about this mysterious man who is often quoted as a source by Collins and the "Aviary" crew, but remains a silent background character who has virtually little (if any) involvement in the UFO arena.

The Dale Graff Interview

Dale Graff is currently retired, but actively working with a research group on consciousness studies and "dreams."  I contacted Dale on Sept 9, 2007 via email, and a few days later I received a polite and cordial response from Dale that he would be more than happy to discuss topics for a possible interview with us.

Upon calling Dale, I was struck by his soft-spoken nature, his enormous insight and intelligence, and his open willingness to talk about the phenomenon of psychic ability and the ufo phenomenon. He is very knowledgable about the entire paranormal field, including both the psychic phenomenon and the UFO phenomenon.  Dale had the pleasure of working under Tony (Anthony) Cacciopo, so Dale enjoyed access to many of the Blue Book investigations, and for a short period sat in the room where the "red phone" was while waiting for his clearances to pass for the remote viewing research.

During this phonecall, we spoke for about an hour regarding the history of the Remote Viewing program, and his part in it.  We discussed his hypothesis regarding the source of the psychic phenomenon, the success rates that were realized during the remote viewing program, and the subsequent fall-out toward the end of the Remote Viewing program related to his reasons for retiring. Dale now conducts his own private research in the area of psychic phenomenon as related to dreams, and more recently short-term precognition studies, which we hope to report on here at RU in the near future, if Dale is willing.

Toward the end of our conversation, I asked Dale about his time at Wright Patterson working at FTD on the AF Remote Viewing research projects.  I asked  him specifically about the claims that were made by Ernie Kellerstrass in his interview with Bruce Maccabee (and his claims made to Bob Collins as well).  The following transcript is from my scribbled short-hand notes that I kept during the phone interview.

Unfortunately, after I let it slip to Bob Collins, Kit Green, and Hal Puthoff that I was in contact with Dale Graff, Dale informed me that "someone" had warned him off from talking with us.  After a few more emails, I stopped hearing from Dale Graff completely.  This was unfortunate, because I personally liked Dale a great deal.  He was one of the first authentic and truly "nice" people that I’ve ever met in the course of my own investigations. I will greatly miss the potentially fascinating and interesting discussions we could have continued having.

I’ve highlighted a few of the critical points that took place at the end of our phone conversation below.

Ryan:   Dale – there was a book written in 2005 by Bob Collins called Exempt from Disclosure…

Dale: Yes – I know Bob and he did work at FTD when I was there.  I left FTD in 1981 and I’m almost certain I met him there and met him off and on a few times.  We’ve exchanged some letters at one time (during the time before emails).  I’ve talked to him and know a little bit about him but don’t know this latest book.

Ryan: Well, some of the latest information that is in there has some claims that go back to one of his core sources – Ernie Kellerstrass…

Dale: Ahh yes – I know Ernie quite well.  I used to work for him!  He was at one time, for about a year, he was my division chief (branch chief) so I had a professional working relationship with Colonel Ernie Kellerstrass.

Ernie and I had some very long discussions over the years, usually after duty because we didn’t want anyone to know we were talking about any of this stuff.

Ryan: In Maccabee’s background paper on Collins sources, he did an interview with Ernie in 1985, and Ernie claimed you had told him certain information that you had seen a saucer and bodies, that you had seen a secret “yellow book”….

Dale (almost choking):   I have no idea where all that came from?!  That is absolutely not true!

Ryan: Right…that’s why I wanted to get in touch with you to see if any of those claims were at all true?

Dale : NO WAY [laugh]…I’ve always been open minded and have always had a strong interest in ET life and any evidence whatsoever of ufo’s and crafts and the real story behind Roswell, Hanger 18 and all that (notes are ineligible here)….but if somebody said that I told anybody that I ever said I have seen an alien craft at Wright Patterson AFB, or anywhere at all , that’s an incorrect statement.  I’ve NEVER made that statement to anyone.  I’ve never even seen a UFO!

Ryan: Why do you think they would make up these kinds of stories…?

Dale: One of the reasons Bob Collins and I departed ways a little bit – he was saying things, even back in the 80’s, that sounded like he was pushing our conversations in a direction which we weren’t even at, or making statements and I don’t know where he got any of that from…

There was a lot of speculation going on, and I think this thing about yellow book…there were always different colored documents going around that signified different levels of clearance, some blue, pink, yellow – content was usually some operational project that was very sensitive, but nothing to do with some secret files of a crashed UFO or whatever he’s talking about.  I don’t know what he’s talking about, but it’s certainly nothing that I’ve ever said!

Ryan: So most of these talks with Ernie were just hypothesizing what the phenomenon could possibly be?

Dale: Yeah – just “gee wiz” kind of talk.

Ryan: Do you think there’s any reason Ernie would make up any of this about you?

[Removed some private comments about Ernie at Dale’s request]

Dale:   …I was always guarded with our discussions.  He (Ernie) was a very helpful individual and very supportive, but it wasn’t really well known in the organization that I was involved in the Remote Viewing research.  I happened to be assigned to his group for a certain time…it was classified so some of the stuff I couldn’t even share with him.

Because it was such a political hot potato – only a few people in the organization were allowed to be read into the project, and I think at one point I had a lot of meetings, about once a month, with the chief scientist (Dr. Cacciopo).  He came in mostly from the psychological side – he was very interested in the topic and just wanted personal updates, and there were times I’d be in his office late at night and we were just shooting the breeze discussing the phenomenon of remote viewing – the source of it – the kind of things we’re discussing here.  I don’t even remember having any discussions with Cacciopo about UFO’s!

Ryan: If anyone had ever said you and Cacciopo had gone to a number of high level classified meetings, would those meetings most likely have been related to the Remote Viewing research that you were involved with at the time?

Dale: Yes, absolutely.

Analysis and Summary

Based on some of the descriptions about Ernie, the odds aren’t looking too good for Kellerstrass.

From Bob Collins:

"Ernie was a short pudgy type of person who always seemed to have a menacing, intimidating attitude typical of AF Colonels of the time, yet full of fear and paranoia when talking about UFOs, MJ-12 and aliens, always saying that someone else had told him those stories."

Hal Puthoff (in an email to me in 2007 after already learning about our interview):

"Met him only once, in the ’80’s, so memory is vague.  Friendly host  for our mtg.  Certainly convinced of the ET presence because of firsthand exposure to at least one event.  Bruce Maccabee’s "Hawk Tales" captures his  claims in detail.  Difficulty in assessing his viewpoints is that Dale  Graff, whose opinion I value after having known him as my contract monitor for ~  a decade, first at FTD, then DIA, claimed Ernie exaggerates.  Don’t know if  this is the truth, or if Dale is dissembling."

Dr. Kit Green:

"HIGHLY VOLUBLE, PRESSURED SPEECH, POOR LISTENER"

Bob Collins tells a number of amazing tales in his book, Exempt From Disclosure, regarding Ernie’s valliant efforts throughout the MJ-12 affair and throughout the 1980’s to impress upon certain producers the "legitimacy" of sources and to create intrigue surrounding the story.

Who is the mysteriouis Ernie Kellerstrass? Why has he gotten away with hiding in the shadows behind Bob Collins and Rick Doty for so many years – never taking the fall when the story falls apart?  Does the story really start with Ernie?  Or is Ernie just another believer – whose mind became captured by the stories that he was "fed" back in the late 1970’s?  If so – where did the stories actually come from, and who really created them?

Believers would probably answer with the age old stereotypical cliche – the Air Force.  However, those who’ve been following along with this plot and with the characters, behaviors, and ultimately the profits enjoyed by many of those who’ve hid in the background all of these years – the answer seems far less complicated and much less esoteric than certain people would like you to think. The answer lies right in front of our faces, yet so many folks still cling to long-standing new-age UFO beliefs strengthened and cemented by these fabricated stories, and they refuse to see the men behind the curtain…even as the curtain slides cleanly to the side.

Please check back often - in future updates we’ll be reviewing some of the fascinating stories Dale Graff provided earlier in the interview, about Project Blue Book and the nature of psychic phenomenon.

I Still Haven’t Found What I’m looking For

The following email quote makes it a hat-trick of quotes for CoR25 tonight.

The damage inflicted on the R&D show is impossible to calculate at the moment, but it appears extensive.

The information below presents an intriguing view of what’s what, for those that like to read between the lines that is. I have to say though, you don’t have to try too hard this time…!

A great mistake is made in trying to sell a song that has been played so much before. Even a new artist can sell it.And…as an ex disk-jockey for three radio stations, WSAU, WRNU, and especially the top -40 WRIG…I can tell you that it will be really tough getting the song “Disclosure begi-i-i-i-i-i-i-ins Toni-i-i-i-i-ii-te” to get even to number 150 to get reviewed…when the jocks tumble to the fact that the melody is endless, they have heard many vesrions of the same song for 10 years, and that the electric guitar riffs drown-out the words…and…there…just…is…no Coda.

Alas and alak: they just won’t play it…and Apple won’t even upload it to their site for free downloads to I-Pods.
We got no composer. We only got a guy who thinks he can play guitar. And the lyricist…hides out refusing to write a word.

Someone needs to write a new song…and then write the right lyrics.

What we got was a Milli Vanilli tribute band when what was needed was something along the lines of U2. Those that can’t sing are always found out in the end…

And the beat………..stopped.

Cheers,
Zep

The Sky Fell

The following email is in response to Ryan D’s Update post below and is from the source identified by Dan Smith as “CoR25″.

Ryan listed a number of hypothetical situations, all of which would indeed be deemed newsworthy *if* CoR25 could or would confirm any of them.

The following response is published with the kind permission of CoR25:

Ryan is correct, as is often the case.
I also have it on pretty good authority that CoR25 would absolutely refuse to merely repeat what he has HEARD only from Dan, or read on his Blog, or in other person’s email, never RP (Although CoR25 has been accused fairly of being a gossip…this is getting a little silly…Ryan’s characterization “stupid” may be more accurate:

“RP talks to Dan extensively about eschatology and issues related to ufology – and supports and encourages Dan positively in his online Blog statements related to eschatology, ufology, and related phenomenology.
Furthermore – RP submits correspondence to Dan on various ufology issues in a supportive role, including controversial issues such as supporting Gordon Novel’s RAM project both on the Blog and monetarily (encouraging Dan to invest a few thousand dollars in Gordon’s project), investigating Rick Doty’s involvement in Serpo, and all of the other issues discussed on Dan’s Blog. RP has had Dan meet with officials, members of Congress, and even foreign delegates.
These activities appear, at least, to represent official, not personal, investment and interest in Dan Smith – a controversial figure in Eschatology, Ufology, and Phenomenology who RP has reportedly called insane and ’sick’.”

CoR25 agrees totally with Ryan…the ABOVE statement may be deemed newsworthy by bloggers and web-sites…but since not a single statement in Ryan’s good hypothetical statement has CoR25 ever heard from RP…not one of …Ryan’s presumptions of the lack of interesting material in fact, is true.
CoR25

It would appear all outstanding questions have now been answered, have they not?
Actually there is more…

Caryn Anscomb also posted an email to Dan that went to a number of recipients. CoR25, who appears in a very talkative mood this evening, responded thusly:

I would like to associate myself 100% with Caryn’s comments, and analysis.

I suspect CoR25 is alternatively becoming amused and incensed that rather than any hope of a rational explanation of “why” the R&D show being (Yawn) stated for the umpteenth time as an accident of frienship is news-worthy…he (and others are instead being increasingly played for a fool, or at a game so ill-defined as to be a Serponian Stick-ball substitute of Rugby. Naturally…just keeping people talking non-specificially is a great definition of true Narcissicism.

I really must try and find CoR25 to see if he sees anything valueable in any of this…absent any communication from the sentinal communicant…RP. CoR25 seems to have disappeared after reading the comments today.

I think CoR25 has been thunderstruck with the very thought Caryn raised…a very important hypothesis…that someone quite nasty is playing a “Bennewicz (sp) card.” If that turns out to be the case, CoR25 will himself turn really quite nasty himself and several friendships will have been abrogated and ended due to what he would consider abject betrayal of all that is reasonable and decent. The Quest will have turned to a Farce.

Where do we go from here? Is the sky still in the same place or did it just come crashing down all around us? I suspect the next few days will provide more enlightenment…

The Sky is Falling

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived, apparently. Disclosure is upon us and officially started early this morning at 00:15 GMT.

A number of us “RU’ers” were discussing the fact that things had been relatively quiet lately, when out of the tedium popped a messenger of Dan Smith, with news of something big!
Sure enough, not long after this Dan himself contacted myself and RU co-owner Ryan D wanting to discuss the impending events. Not long after this, the following appeared on Dan’s blog:

There has been a conversation with CoR25. There was a discussion as to whether this conversation might constitute a news story. The correspondent said he would be surprised if it did rise to that level.
CoR25 said that he will confirm to whomever that there have been extensive communications between me and RP over a number of years, and that RP is well aware of my bias toward eschatology of the traditional kind.
I have had discussions with OM and RU, and they are prepared to make the case that a confirmable R&D show should rise to the level of legitimate news. Well, OM is so prepared. We’ll have to see about RU. They are welcome to call CoR25.
CoR25 was surprised that the R&D show had not already been publicly confirmed. I contended that it had not been so confirmed, and he readily consented to be the official confirmer of the R&D show.
Any questions?
I then called RP. He did not indicate that he had any problem with this ’small’ additional step. I don’t recall that we discussed whether this should rise to the level of a legitimate news story.

Source

As you can see from the above, Dan and others are of the opinion that a “confirmable R&D show” is legitimate news. As mentioned at the top of this post, Ryan and I had a brief Skype chat with Dan last night, amid a flurry of online activity by several individuals with close ties to the people and personalities involved. Caryn Anscomb immediately attempted to confirm what was being said by going straight to the source that Dan was using. We quickly realised not all was as it seemed.

The following is the chat transcript (copied with the permission of all participants), Caryn’s comments follow further down.

[00:15:15] Dan Smith says: disclosure starts tonight???
[00:15:21] Zep Tepi says: do tell
[00:15:26] Ryan says: well i’d call that excellent news…
[00:15:45] Dan Smith says: well, I’m supposed to blog it soon…
(Despite our requests, we never did learn who told him to blog this latest “news”)
[00:16:02] Ryan says: to what degree will CoR25 confirm?
[00:16:12] Dan Smith says: I want to run it by you all…
[00:16:18] Ryan says: ok
[00:16:21] Zep Tepi says: ok
[00:16:26] Dan Smith says: CoR25 will confirm to whomever…
[00:16:43] Dan Smith says: Sharon Weinberger???
[00:16:47] Zep Tepi says: what will he confirm?
[00:16:50] Zep Tepi says: Yes I know her
[00:16:50] Ryan says: right – confirm what? only that RP talks to you…or confirm that RP supports what you say
[00:17:14] Dan Smith says: no only talks…
[00:17:30] Dan Smith says: is that not newsworthy??
[00:17:34] Zep Tepi says: we know that already?
[00:17:43] Ryan says: not really newsworthy…that’s more than public
[00:17:50] Ryan says: sorry…shoot
[00:17:52] Dan Smith says: you know it, but Sharon does not….
[00:18:06] Zep Tepi says: maybe Sharon does not care?
[00:18:25] Ryan says: i’d be interested in her take…i hope she doesn’t just blow it off as unimportant
[00:18:30] Dan Smith says: well, that’s what we need to find out???
[00:18:52] Ryan says: it’s not as great as if CoR25 would say that RP encourages you to post what you post
[00:18:54] Ryan says: but it’s a start i guess
[00:18:56] Dan Smith says: next step…no?
[00:19:03] Ryan says: seems rather weak of CoR25, don’t you think?
[00:19:27] Ryan says: figuring, he has the capability to confirm so much more
[00:19:52] Dan Smith says: no he doesn’t about R&D…
[00:20:15] Ryan says: he doesn’t see what RP sends you on the subjects you discuss?
[00:20:19] Dan Smith says: Of course RP encourages me…
[00:20:28] Ryan says: he doesn’t “witness” RP encouraging you?
[00:20:44] Zep Tepi says: I don’t think she will be very interested in knowing someone who has a blog also talks sometimes with RP, you will need to be VERY specific when talking with her
[00:20:48] Dan Smith says: RP has sent me nothing on eschaton…
[00:21:10] Dan Smith says: specific….of course…
[00:21:13] Zep Tepi says: so again, where will this get us?
[00:21:14] Ryan says: what about ufos…aliens….RAM….remote viewing….ghosts….god….etc…
[00:21:41] Dan Smith says: all that crap comes after the eschaton stuff…
(note: Charming!)
[00:21:47] Ryan says: i think it would be newsworthy if there was confirmation that a government agent was discussing UFO’s legitimately with a civilian
[00:21:53] Ryan says: or any other paranormal topic
[00:22:07] Dan Smith says: Eschaton isw ##1 priority….No??
[00:22:17] Zep Tepi says: I don’t see it like that, unless he is talking on the record…
[00:22:18] Ryan says: Eschaton is the big picture, yes?
[00:22:30] Dan Smith says: yes…
[00:22:32] Ryan says: he’s talking to a “crazy” person…why is that?
[00:22:40] Ryan says: i’d say a journalist would take notice of that…
[00:23:30] Dan Smith says: come on you guys…get this straight between yourselves…
[00:23:38] Zep Tepi says: why?
[00:23:44] Ryan says: haha
[00:23:54] Zep Tepi says: we don’t always agree on things
[00:23:59] Ryan says: certainly not!
[00:24:15] Dan Smith says: obviously…..!!! no shit Sherlock…
[00:24:16] Zep Tepi says: you said earlier disclosure starts tonight
[00:24:25] Zep Tepi says: disclosure of WHAT?
[00:24:34] Ryan says: and did anyone encourage you to blog tonight?
[00:24:40] Zep Tepi says: that a government official talks with a blogger?
[00:24:48] Zep Tepi says: whoppie doo! :)
[00:24:55] Dan Smith says: of R&D to whomever…. NY times???
[00:25:25] Ryan says: not that he only talks…but that he talks legitimately about a paranormal topic…(assuming CoR25 will confirm that part)
[00:25:28] Ryan says: but it sounds like he won’t
[00:25:35] Ryan says: so i’d say it’s a bust unfortunately
[00:25:44] Dan Smith says: to whom would you like??
[00:25:52] Zep Tepi says: lets go through it here
[00:25:59] Zep Tepi says: pretend I am Sharon
[00:26:06] Zep Tepi says: first contacy
[00:26:09] Zep Tepi says: contact even
[00:26:13] Zep Tepi says: what say you?
[00:26:35] Dan Smith says: She knows RP…
[00:26:49] Zep Tepi says: right ok, I gathered that part
[00:26:56] Dan Smith says: She knows he is a major player…
[00:27:11] Dan Smith says: He plays with me…
[00:27:23] Zep Tepi says: right, that is certainly true
[00:27:36] Zep Tepi says: she knows you too?
[00:27:48] Dan Smith says: so then I am either Bennewitz or Jesus…
[00:27:50] Zep Tepi says: if not you need to introduce yourself to her
[00:28:18] Ryan says: just don’t say you’re Bennewitz or Jesus…at least not at first ;)
[00:28:24] Zep Tepi says: lol
[00:28:36] Dan Smith says: ok what should I say???
[00:28:42] Zep Tepi says: well, if the choice is Bennewitz or Jesus Dan, I go for the former
[00:28:45] Ryan says: haha
[00:29:00] Zep Tepi says: say anything along those lines to Sharon and she will run a mile
[00:29:11] Dan Smith says: fine…no problemo….states witness with CoR25…!!!
[00:29:21] Ryan says: wait a minute…do you have it in writing that CoR25 will “back you up”?
[00:29:33] Ryan says: or has he simply told you so over the phone
[00:29:50] Dan Smith says: I have it verbal…big VERBAL….
[00:29:58] Ryan says: uh-huh
[00:30:05] Ryan says: you know what we say to our managers at work?
[00:30:10] Ryan says: if it ain’t in writing – it ain’t
[00:30:17] Dan Smith says: I blog it…he confirms it….
[00:30:23] Zep Tepi says: and more to the point, on whose authority was you made Jesus?
[00:30:29] Ryan says: how do you know he doesn’t turn around on you after you blog it?
[00:30:29] Zep Tepi says: RP’s?
[00:30:44] Zep Tepi says: RP gets to decide these things? Does the Pope know about this?
[00:30:47] Ryan says: “No idea what Dan’s going on about, I never said any such thing”
[00:31:02] Ryan says: RP is God mate…did you forget?
[00:31:02] Dan Smith says: well…that is the entire issue here….
[00:31:10] Zep Tepi says: the thing is though Dan
[00:31:15] Zep Tepi says: you blog something along those lines
[00:31:27] Zep Tepi says: and CoR25 doesn’t back you up
[00:31:32] Ryan says: not good
[00:31:36] Zep Tepi says: where does that leave you then?
[00:31:41] Zep Tepi says: In Bennewitz country
[00:31:57] Dan Smith says: then CoR25 will have broken his word for first time…
[00:32:14] Zep Tepi says: you need to be specific though
[00:32:35] Ryan says: the first time huh?
[00:32:36] Ryan says: wow
[00:32:36] Dan Smith says: I’m fine in Bennewitz country….are you stupid about that???
[00:32:44] Zep Tepi says: simply saying “CoR25 confirms government official in contact with blogger” is not exactly the start of disclosure
[00:32:51] Ryan says: it’s stupid to be fine in bennewitz country
[00:32:53] Zep Tepi says: you’re fine about that?
[00:32:54] Ryan says: but that’s neither here nor there
[00:32:59] Zep Tepi says: exactly
[00:33:11] Dan Smith says: eschaton blogger is not a laughing matter….
[00:33:21] Zep Tepi says: it isn’t?
[00:33:33] Zep Tepi says: what did CoR25 say to you?
[00:33:58] Dan Smith says: i am about to write that on the blog…
[00:34:07] Zep Tepi says: ah right, yes you did say
[00:34:17] Dan Smith says: i will tell you when it’s ready..
[00:34:21] Ryan says: thought you were going to pass it by us?…oh ok
[00:34:32] Ryan says: still need to write it up then

[00:41:31] Ryan says: excellent

Well, we saw what he was about to post and sure enough, it wasn’t really all that significant. The answers are all available in the chat above. Dan states this is very significant “newsworthy” stuff – the fact that a government official talks with Dan, an “Eschaton blogger”. Yet Dan also says of that very same official: “RP has sent me nothing on eschaton…”

Caryn Anscomb reports from her blog on her chat with CoR25, specifically what will be “disclosed”:

“I have no clue what the “confirmation of the R&D show means”…I said I would tell ANYONE that I know RP and Dan are friends, have talked about all manner and matter of stuff for years, they disagree vehemently essentially any matter of substance, have great humor, and know each other very well: they talk often, and are very open when asked by anyone that they communicate a great deal in person, by phone, and by email, but neither knows what the other is really all about…not do I. If THAT is the “R&D Show…” you bet: I will tell anyone THAT…good heavens I have been confirming that for many years!”

Read Caryn’s full report on her blog here,
absolutely essential reading for those who truly do want access to the big picture.

In the meantime, let us remind ourselves of a little nursey rhyme. Any similarities or likenesses to real people are purely intentional…

Chicken Little

Chicken Little likes to walk in the woods. She likes to look at the trees. She likes to smell the flowers. She likes to listen to the birds singing.

One day while she is walking an acorn falls from a tree, and hits the top of her little head.
My, oh, my, the sky is falling. I must run and tell the lion about it” – says Chicken Little and begins to run.
She runs and runs. By and by she meets the hen.
Where are you going?” – asks the hen.
Oh, Henny Penny, the sky is falling and I am going to the lion to tell him about it.”
How do you know it?” – asks Henny Penny.
It hit me on the head, so I know it must be so” – says Chicken Little.

Let me go with you!” – says Henny Penny. – “Run, run.”

So the two run and run until they meet Ducky Lucky.

The sky is falling” – says Henny Penny. “We are going to the lion to tell him about it

How do you know that?” – asks Ducky Lucky.

It hit Chicken Little on the head” – says Henny Penny.

May I come with you?” – asks Ducky Lucky.

Come” – says Henny Penny.

So all three of them run on and on until they meet Foxey Loxey.

Where are you going?” – asks Foxey Loxey.

The sky is falling and we are going to the lion to tell him about it” – says Ducky Lucky.

Do you know where he lives?” – asks the fox.

I don’t” – says Chicken Little.

I don’t” – says Henny Penny.

I don’t” – says Ducky Lucky.

I do” – says Foxey Loxey. – “Come with me and I can show you the way.”

He walks on and on until he comes to his den.

Come right in” – says Foxey Loxey.

They all go in, but they never, never come out again.

Eep!
More to follow.

Cheers,
Zep

Update from Ryan D.

Any questions?

Just a couple comments if I may.
When you stated this:

CoR25 said that he will confirm to whomever that there have been extensive communications between me and Ron over a number of years, and that Ron is well aware of my bias toward eschatology of the traditional kind.”

and this:

CoR25 was surprised that the R&D show had not already been publicly confirmed. I contended that it had not been so confirmed, and he readily consented to be the official confirmer of the R&D show.”

I think it’s important to define “confirmation” here. Is “Ron talks to Dan extensively, and is aware of Dan’s bias toward eschatology..” confirmation? It’s certainly confirmation of what anyone who is on Jack’s list, or reads the forums, or has even a passing familiarity with the “Aviary” side of ufology -already knows. Will a journalist find it newsworthy? Probably not. Is it worth a try? Sure – go for it.

What we were trying to convey to you last night, Dan, is whether something of this nature would be a little more interesting to the general public:

Ron talks to Dan extensively about eschatology and issues related to ufology -and supports and encourages Dan positively in his online blog statements related to eschatology, ufology, and related phenomenology.
Furthermore – Ron submits correspondence to Dan on various ufology issues in a supportive role, including controversial issues such as supporting Gordon Novel’s RAM project both on the blog and monetarily (encouraging Dan to invest a few thousand dollars in Gordon’s project), investigating Rick Doty’s involvement in Serpo, and all of the other issues discussed on Dan’s blog. Ron has had Dan meet with officials, members of Congress, and even foreign delegates. These activities appear, at least, to represent official, not personal, investment and interest in Dan Smith – a controversial figure in Eschatology, Ufology, andPhenomenology who Pandolfi has reportedly called insane and ’sick’.”

That would constitute confirmation.
As to this:

I have had discussions with OM and RU, and they are prepared to make the case that a confirmable R&D show should rise to the level of legitimate news.”

That is absolutely true. But only if something like the above statement is confirmed. CoR25’s current comments to you represent a tongue-in-cheek statement – that make the request for confirmation appear amateur and ridiculous (and dare I say stupid), intentionally or not. To them, this appears to be a big joke. If CoR25 is willing to confirm the statement that I’ve suggested above – we would be more than happy to publish an article on the matter to our website, and submit the news to as many journalists, forums and bloggers as we have access to and support from. CoR25 may not consider some of those avenues properly journalistic – but, if so, he underestimates the power of the internet and undermines the intelligence of most of us here. I suspect Gary Bekkum & Caryn Anscomb would likely agree that such a statement as the one above would be newsworthy as well.

Otherwise, CoR25’s tongue-in-cheek comments to you aren’t worth the electronic bits and bytes they’re displayed on, unfortunately.

Respectfully,
-Ryan
