Hey Buck, not sure how that fits the thread. Did you maybe get the wrong thread?

Hi LHC,

You said :

Last week on Wednesday John Alexander was on the Michael Smerconish nationally syndicated radio show to plug his book. Now Michael is not a UFO guy or a believer so I listened with interest. Then I heard John say that the Phoenix lights and the Rendlesham event were real extraterrestrials and I immediately called the show

I was just saying that this John Alexander guy is not or was not head of NASA, is/was he ?
Mr Sillard "was", sort of, since he was head of the CNES and now head of the official French UAP study group. So I gave you an element of comparison to have you put things into perspective.

It was a joke kind of. But who is this guy anyway ? Someone important & influential within the scientific community or the government ?

Him ? : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_B._Alexander

Buck

yeah Buck thats him. Here's his website:
http://www.johnbalexander.com/home
if your interested. Everything I found on him points to him being a non-lethal weapons expert as well as non-lethal warfare. I don't recall him being mentioned in Ronsons book but I can recommend reading it. Oh and thanks for clearing that up.

Thx LHC,

I don't think that he is well known over here in Europe, sounds like he found a hobby for his old days.
Sorry for the off-topic but I remember searching on google for (theorical) NLWs and my favorite of them all is this one : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_bomb

Could you imagine dropping a gay-bomb on the Talibans ? These goat-f---ers would start killing each other and we could say, ooops, my bad, did not mean no harm.

To the extent that he was one of less than a baker's dozen or so of proponents of pseudoscientific research in government, fortunately for taxpayers the answer is no.

The other day they did a best of on the Smerconish show and one of the ones they used was the Alexander interview and guess what? They heavily edited my call and so noone got to hear me explain why he is wrong about the Phoenix lights or Rendlesham. Ouch, that was the best part.
