Two items...

1. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
2. Googling ain't research.

I admire Stan Friedman as a researcher. My feeling is that he and Dave Jacobs are the two most important students of the UFO phenomena at this time. And no, I'm not close to either of them. They wouldn't know me from second base.

First of all, you can bite me.

Second, what makes you think me knowing about those links was a result of googling - how do you know those aren't blogs and mailing lists I regularly read?

Third, your "research" comment obviously shows that you either didn't read or didn't understand what I said and the what the links said. This is not about "research" - it is about whether someone's conclusions logically follow from their premises, and whether their premises actually have any foundation.

I respectfully decline your biting invitation. I suggest you try it yourself.

Well I think the abuse issue needs to be attended to. I don't believe Hidden hand deserved the comments he received.

There is quite a bit in the article that could be discussed. The main issue we have in discussion is held by others also, such as William Lyne.
The main point on their side is that U.F.O.s are man made. Serious U.F.O. researchers (again going with their view) although honest people (talking in general) may have done or be doing legitimate research, but the results are not necessarily or have most often not been the truth.
We can also link their views/beliefs to the Von Braun/Rosin information for the next stage of an extra terrestrial threat in order to promote a unified governament.
We are getting closer to the heart of the matter if we look further into this.
One of the three solutions obviously has to be correct.

HERE I am, an old man in a dry month,
Being read to by a boy, waiting for rain.
I was neither at the hot gates
Nor fought in the warm rain
Nor knee deep in the salt marsh, heaving a cutlass,
Bitten by flies, fought.

yeah, great rebuttal.

Kim -

I sat and listened politely while you told everybody your opinion.

I expect the same courtesy when I give voice to a different opinion.

Or maybe that is too much to expect?

If you want to quote poetry, I think this is more a propos:

After such knowledge, what forgiveness? Think now
History has many cunning passages, contrived corridors
And issues, deceives with whispering ambitions,
Guides us by vanities. Think now
She gives when our attention is distracted
And what she gives, gives with such supple confusions
That the giving famishes the craving. Gives too late
What’s not believed in, or if still believed,
In memory only, reconsidered passion. Gives too soon
Into weak hands, what’s thought can be dispensed with
Till the refusal propagates a fear. Think
Neither fear nor courage saves us. Unnatural vices
Are fathered by our heroism. Virtues
Are forced upon us by our impudent crimes.
These tears are shaken from the wrath-bearing tree.

The tiger springs in the new year. Us he devours. Think at last
We have not reached conclusion, when I
Stiffen in a rented house. Think at last
I have not made this show purposelessly
And it is not by any concitation
Of the backward devils
I would meet you upon this honestly.
(from the same poem 'toon quoted from, Gerontion)

Kim - I have not made this show purposelessly. Think at last we have not reached conclusion. I would meet you upon this honestly.
Is this a private fight, or can anyone join in?
