Reported release of Brazilian government UFO files

Postby MikeJamieson » Fri Aug 13, 2010 3:54 pm

This beginning excerpt of a mass mailed email, received yesterday, summarizes the year old news out of Brazil (from UFO guy down there, A. J. Gevaerd):

Dear colleagues.

The Brazilian Air Force commander, Lieutenant-Brigadier Juniti Saito (equivalent to 4-stars General), has just given a major step to openly recognize the UFO Phenomena as serious and worthy of immediate actions in Brazil. Saito, a very respected man by the current Federal Administration, issued a public statement regulating how UFO reports should be handled in Brazil, by whom and what destination should they have.

Brazil must be the first country in the world to have such measure published in its official journal, called Diário Oficial da União, which is openly public and records every and all acts taken by our Administration, its agencies and entities. The document was published Tuesday, August 10 and can be read below translated into English.

This is a great example of how a public campaign such as UFOs: Freedom of Information Now, conducted by the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers (CBU) through the Brazilian UFO Magazine, can make things happen. The actual measure by Lieutenant-Brigadier Saito is a direct result of the campaign, following several others, such as the release of thousands of pages of UFO secret documents and hundreds of photos, including material of the Operation Saucer.

I went back a few pages of this forum topic and saw no postings on this. Sorry if it was addressed earlier and I missed it.

Ed Komarek posted about it a few months back its here- http://exopolitics.blogspot.com/2010/04 ... osure.html
Also I wonder if in those files might be what was dubbed “The Official UFO Night In Brazil.”
http://www.ufodigest.com/article/disclo ... about-ufos
The night in question took place in May of 1986. Seven jetfighters were scrambled to pursue 21 huge spheres, each of them a whopping one hundred meters in diameter.

When I get some time i may just go through them to find out. As it is I'm tied up with a UFO report from MacDill AFB.
Thanks for posting Mike.

Haven't had a chance to really look at them....but, they seem to address something called "Operation Saucer" (?)

Whoa on the dimensions of the spheres. From my memory, they do seem to have some pretty dramatic and even scarey episodes down there. With clear physical traces on people even.

Might be some meaty material there, given the fact that they are being represented by that military leader as something very physical, very concrete.

Maybe its time for a final trip to Brazil.
Havent been there since the 80's. I could add it to the stack. Im doing Vietnam, Cambodia and Burma next year, as well as a run around some alleged secret places in Poland and Germany in my Cobra.
I have become that which I always despised and feared........Old !

My greatest wish, would be to own my own scrapyard.

Kentaro Mori’s post here is worth considering…

http://www.ufoupdateslist.com/2010/aug/m13-005.shtml

He says that according to sources in direct contact with the current administration they’re basically taking the same position the US and UK already has, in this case releasing all files and forwarding all new reports to the National Archives.

He also says the official position is past investigations by some officers were due to personal interest only... again same as the US.

Now Chorlton you can come visit me here in sunny Southern California instead... :)

I cant afford the £9 US immigration is charging for a Visa now, and they wont accept my Visa issued in 1967 any more. :D Apart from which I refuse to have a Biometric passport demanded by US immigration so I fear I shall never taste a decent pastrami sandwich ever again.
I'll just have to stick to Pie and mash and Jellied Eels. :D
