Entropy (arrow of time)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy_(arrow_of_time)

Unlike most other laws of physics, the Second Law of Thermodynamics is statistical in nature, and therefore its reliability arises from the huge number of particles present in macroscopic systems. It is not impossible, in principle, for all 6 × 10^23 atoms in a mole of a gas to spontaneously migrate to one half of a container; it is only fantastically unlikely—so unlikely that no macroscopic violation of the Second Law has ever been observed. T Symmetry is the symmetry of physical laws under a time reversal transformation. Although in restricted contexts one may find this symmetry, the observable universe itself does not show symmetry under time reversal, primarily due to the second law of thermodynamics.

As usual, much ado about microscopic nothings...

Retrocausality
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retrocausality

A few legitimate physical theories have sometimes been interpreted as leading to retrocausality. This is not considered part of science, since the distinction between cause and effect in physics is not made at the most fundamental level.

Chronology protection conjecture
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronology ... conjecture

The chronology protection conjecture is a conjecture by the physicist Professor Stephen Hawking that the laws of physics are such as to prevent time travel on all but sub-microscopic scales. Mathematically, the permissibility of time travel is represented by the existence of closed timelike curves.

“It seems that there is a Chronology Protection Agency which prevents the appearance of closed timelike curves and so makes the universe safe for historians.”

"As usual, much ado about microscopic nothings..."

AD, your comment is silly.

You aren't going to get away with calling Aharonov a 'quack' (like previous slander against Valentini, et al)

Yakir Aharonov, Ph.D. of Chapman University is awarded the National Medal of Science, 2010

http://www.barackobamavideos.net/yakir- ... ience-2010

President Obama bestows the National Medal of Science, the nation’s highest award in the sciences, upon Yakir Aharonov, Ph.D., professor of theoretical physics at Chapman University, for his lifetime body of work, including his co-discovery of the Aharonov-Bohm Effect, a cornerstone of modern physics, and his ongoing discoveries in the field of weak measurements….

I suggest you review this paper:

While the Heisenberg picture and the Schrodinger pictures are equivalent formulations of quantum mechanics, nevertheless, the results discussed here support a new approach which has led to new insights, new intuitions, new experiments, and even the possibility of new devices that were missed from the old perspective. These types of de-
velopments are signatures of a successful re-formulation

You’re not going to get away with claming I called Aharonov a 'quack'.

Retract the claim immediately.

Also, please acknowledge that you understand the material contained in my post, specifically why this is much ado about microscopic nothings.

ETA: In other words, in case you don’t understand the meaning of the phrase, why this makes no difference in the macroscopic world we live in.

Of course AD did not call Aharonov a quack; he knows better (which is why he would not get away with it if he tried, unlike poor Antony Valentini of Perimeter Institute, who took a beating here at RU for his non-equilibrium quantum theory).

I apologize if my remark appeared to suggest AD had actually referred to Aharonov as a quack.

I would point AD to this comment from the cited interview:

Aharonov: "If we try to extend these notions to our universe, and say that the universe has a description by two modes -- one mode coming from past history, another mode coming back from the future, the destiny state of the universe, that would indeed be a completely new way of thinking about the universe: saying that everyday things that happen to us (are) not only dictated by the past but also dictated by some destiny that we have to fulfill when we come toward the future. But this is speculation. I have no proof of that. If we try to extend what we learned to do with quantum mechanical, microscopic systems -- extend it to our universe -- there will be this new description.
Our group (at Chapman) is looking now to find some experiments that can be done on a cosmological scale to see if the universe has a destiny state, not only a history state."

So this remains a topic of great interest, but certainly, as pointed out by Aharonov, speculative. But interesting, none-the-less.

AD, I haven't had a chance to look at this yet, but Gisin is an expert on non-local quantum correlations. He also is anti-Many Worlds.

Gary, you need to address chrLz's comment.

[no, the abstract alone will not suffice]

When you’re done with that, I’m still waiting for this…

As a refresher I suggest…

Quantum Quackery
http://www.csicop.org/si/show/quantum_quackery/

Quantum physics is claimed to support the mystical notion that the mind creates reality. However, an objective reality, with no special role for consciousness, human or cosmic, is consistent with all observations.

AD, the link you are citing is not addressing any of the current thinking about time reversed quantum to classical information fields at the (admittedly poorly understood) interface of quantum and classical worlds.

More later as time permits.

Werbos (National Science Foundation Director) has been looking into this for quite some time. He did, some time ago, quietly reveal to some of us a potential breakthrough in this regard, which he seems to refer to in his recently revised paper at the Cornell arXiv.org database.

This disclosure follows up on that paper, by describing methods for circuit design based on the new physics. It provides a striking example - how to design a quantum separator (QS), which separates out the eigenfunctions which supply ordinary time-forwards free energy from the time-inverted eigenfunctions, when the QS is connected to bidirectional power supplies now under development in several places.

Of course, some might cite this as evidence:

Address this immediately upon your return after your two week vacation or you will be banned permanently.

well that's not exactly true - I quite often make money form psychic predictions of BLIND targets - here are three examples of me being tasked BLIND and remote viewing - whereby I won money making bets on my rv data.

Also this woman just won £1,000,000 by betting on the lottery with her psychic prediction she would win before christmas.

Describing the moment she knew her luck was in, she said: 'Out of the blue one day I just said 'let's start a lottery syndicate because I've just got a really strong feeling we are going to win a big win at the end of the year'.

'It was so strong I could feel it in my bones.

'I said it was going to be a million pounds - don't ask me how, I just knew.'

Not only did she win, she won the exact ammount predicted and in the time she predicted.

I looked at that first one - several minutes I won't get back... It also should have been declared up front that it is YOUR site. What is your scientific / investigative background, may I ask?

Do you actually understand what BLIND means, in terms of its use in scientific testing? Here's a hint - it is a term that is absolutely NOT applicable to that 'scenario'.

And do you have any appreciation whatsoever for the biases and other problems in what you have posted there, that make it meaningless? And how a 'blind' test could have been applied? (Another hint - in that scenario, I doubt there is any way you could apply a 'blind', given its nature..)

If you come back and make an attempt to outline all the issues that should have been discussed, and that make such a prediction valueless, then I might engage further. But given your 'paper' does not even bother with such 'trivialities'..

Also this woman just won £1,000,000 by betting on the lottery with her psychic prediction she would win before christmas.

And the fact she predicted this in exactly that way, is documented ... where? How many other folks wish for/'predict' such a thing, and then will claim *after* they win, Ohmigod, I was *right*...? Give me a break.

Here's a very simple question for you about bias.. The lady is claiming to be a psychic. So...do you think that there might be any reason whatsoever why she might perhaps make up such a story after her win? How would you, as an investigator, eliminate that as a possibility? I'm all ears...

By the way, do you also claim to be a psychic? Have you ever submitted to any PROPER scientific testing?

Seconded. Since when is having a 1 in 4 chance of getting it right evidence of psi?

How many tickets did she buy before that?

The luckiest person in the world?

Look no farther than Joan Ginther, at least when it comes to winning the lottery.

Since 1993, the 63-year-old woman has won four windfalls on the Texas Lottery, each time winning more than $1 million for a total of $20.4 million.

The most recent win that has everyone talking: $10 million in a scratch-off game called “$140,000,000 Extreme Payout.”
