Higgs Boson found...

Postby Illudium Q-36 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 9:50 am

Well kind of, they definitely have a boson, and it's definitely very Higgs like but the question remains is it the standard predicted Higgs or do the subtle variations mean is a slight variant on it? A non standard model Higgs would be very exciting news.
They will need lots more data to pin it down accurately to say for sure but it really is one of the grandest achievements as far as understanding of the universe goes.

I agree Illudium, I don't pretend to understand physics at such an advanced level, but even I know this is "big". I know, it's small, but you get my drift... ;)

Cheers,
