Citizen Hearing on UFOs at National Press Club

Postby MikeJamieson » Sat Apr 27, 2013 3:32 pm

Sirius is now out and in a few days excited advocates of UFO "disclosure" await the opening gaveling in of a committee consisting of six former members of Congress, apparently fondly remembered by the DC press corps with smiles and giggles, who will hear evidence presented by witnesses brought together by UFO disclosure activist Steven Bassett:

Bassett's event has so far received some attention....in particular from Rachel Maddow of MSNBC. Very limited print news articles so far.

Here is a link to Billy Cox's most recent article which includes description of press coverage to date for the April 29th through May 3rd event at the National Press Club:

Lee Speigel of The Huffington Post, having written an initial article, has been live blogging this hearing. Here's Day 2, with Day One notes and other articles by Speigel on paranormal, UFO stuff available at his article page:

Thought this info would be of interest for some of us...

Apparently Robert Hastings had issues with the over all atmosphere of the D.C. "Hearings" at the National Press Club. Some of the participants were a few of the Salas contingent that gave us the 2010 Press Club. I had noticed that there appeared only a minor handful from this group. I couldn't help but notice that Robert Hastings appeared no where to be found. Now I know why.

From http://www.theufochronicles.com/:

Hastings decided not to participate in that event, saying, “It’s unfortunate that Bassett chose to mingle the highly credible testimony of the missile launch officers, and the missile security guard, with questionable claims made by some of the other witnesses at the hearing. That is counter-productive if one is attempting to educate the public about the UFO reality and undercuts the legitimacy of the Disclosure process that he supposedly wants to bring about.”

I am hesitant to say this, but kudos to Hastings for not participating in Bassett's "dog and pony" show. As most know, I tend to disagree with Hastings point of view concerning his nukes and UFO connections, but believe that positive acknowledgement is always called for when well warranted.

Question to ponder: Does this show a possible schism between Hastings and Salas?
