Hey all,
I've read over at Nasa that there's a chance that a comet will hit Mars in October of 2014.
The comet named 'Comet 2013 A1' is between 1 and 3 kilometres in diameter and is travelling at around 125,000 mph. Should it hit Mars an expected 35 million megatons of energy would be released from impact.
Chances are currently 1 in 2,000 of it making impact, but either way it'll be getting quite close to Mars and should make for a fascinating observation.
If it does hit Mars' environment would undergo a bit of change.
