I think those in the field, like Loren Coleman, would define it more along the lines of 'unknown' or 'undiscovered.' It's well known that the Mountain Gorillas were nothing more than a fanciful rumor until a hundred years ago. My personal feeling is that that may turn out to be the case with other 'cryptoids'- such as Bigfoot or even Nessie. It's good to retain a sense of awe in my opinion. Too soon we forget about all those brilliant engineers and scientists of the late 19th century who proved that heavier than air flight was a scientific impossibility. Errr- what were their names again?
consider everything/ believe nothing
