That was part of the downfall of the Pickerings. They never did give any hard evidence. And that lead to the investigating team (correct me if I'm wrong) finally getting pee-o-ed enough to investigate for themselves.

And thanks for that investigative team Hoaxbusters

Sorry, don't know what else to call the team at this time.

The one thing it did was "out" RT. That is a given. Is there any truth in anything he said? Well partly, he did get in to Maccabee. Now how was that carried out? Seems security isn't what it should be, hmmmmm......

Yeah right, code ORANGE

Full body scan!

I dont know why people are still clinging to the meeting With Dr Mac aspect, he has said you didnt need an escort to get in to see him, considering RT was able to scam the Naval league for so long, its not hard to see how he may have scammed his way onto the base.
This small aspect of the story hardly counterbalances the weight of the evidence presented that he was never in the navy or any other branch of the service. All the evidence points to a confidence trickster, pure and simple

Dragon needs to have a proctologist check him for brain damage

On the contrary Mike. Dragon appears to be one of the few admitting the downfall of the story, after being such a staunch believer. In his own special way he even thanked "the team".

That's progress isn't it? Sort of? Kinda?

Progress?

Not sure...he ended with a comment that suggested RT got on the base legitimately....implying he something for which there is no evidence

That's another problem with OM.

They try to be so mysterious with their posts...oh so clever ...meanwhile they are not saying anything...because they don't have a clue.....and they don't take f---- stand one way or the other.

Probably because they don't want to go against the cult sock king leader.

In DF's defense, he's a good guy. I know him. I know he got a little loose toward the end on this thing, but he was very much against the Drone hoax and fought hard to nail them. Shads will back me up on that.

Personally, I think there was a mandate put out to the mods. My guess, of course.

I dont know any of these people, except from what they post.
The comments i make about them are responses to what they post.
I agree the first part of DF's post looked promising, but as Mur pointed out, its the last part that irks me.
They are deliberatly trying to breath life into this hoax, which in DF's case is poor form.
He knows this is a hoax, has said so on many occasions...... so why try and prop it up ?
Is he simply trying to keep the story alive for OMF's benefit ?, Using a known hoax as a means of keeping ppls interest in the story and the site up ?

Again propping this hoax up shortchanges the real veterans who served

To do that for the sake of generating interest and traffic for their site is grubby

Yes I do agree Dragonfire always seemed pretty level headed. I think he may have sold his soul to become a mod tho!! Towing the company line and all!! I have not posted at OM much (or even logged in) as its become a ridiculous joke of a forum. I lost respect for Ivo Bren and Joke (errr, oops I meant Jake) when they lost the only admin OM had that had an ounce of common sense and true open mindedness! Yes i am referring to Jed of course!

I've had that happen a couple of times here too, Mur. I think it happens if you accidentally hit the Alt key before sending the post. I haven't figured out how to get the post back either, dang it.
