England V USA, World Cup 2010

Postby You Can Call Me Ray » Sat Jun 12, 2010 9:29 pm

Well...

I guess neither nation gets to brag about a win here, huh? Could mean a lot later, or could mean nothing. Either way, exciting stuff!

Despite England not getting the win I thought our overall play deserved, it was a very entertaining game. The US have come a long way and played some good stuff. England and USA to go through to the next round, methinks.

The UK goal was pure skill.
The US goal was pure luck.

All the US wanted was a draw of some kind, a score draw was beyond their wildest dreams.
Theyll probably receive the CMH on their return to the US.
That the game didnt end as 5-1 to England was nothing but damned luck on the part of the US.

Yes, it was, I will give you that. And the effort by our tender was about as good as one could expect.

The US goal was pure luck.

Not so much luck, but UNluck, I would say. There wasn't an OUNCE of "luck" on the US side. It certainly took SKILL to get that strike setup, because in soccer we know it is NEVER just about the final strike, but the events that lead up to it. And a blundering keeper also helps!!! I can sense your pride must be a bit tarnished for you to try to minimize the USA's play while not even making a peep about how stupid your tender looked, and performed!

Your crying shows you are justifying... and again "nothing but damned luck on the part of the US" is not telling the whole story, Mr. Pickering! You are leaving out the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE TRUTH, which is your bloke who ruined your chances of a win!!!! You're nothing but a sad sack hoaxer!

But the REAL funny thing would be to see how Salla would write an article to justify England's goaltender muff as some kind of "fail-safe".

Ahhhh, but Salla is an Aussie, so like he would care!

Cramden: You traveled all the way to Johannesburg to watch a vuvuzela recital?

Derek Flint: No, to teach!

Football scandal.

Postby Chorlton » Sat Jun 19, 2010 9:57 am

The English FA was in dissaray last night when it was revelead that Fabio Cappello fielded the womens team against Algeria instead of the mens team.
A supporter was quoted as saying. "It was bunch of women out there farting around, either that or we had employed the US team as subs"

Mr Cappello was last night heard to be on the phone to the English schoolboys first team to see if they are available for Wednesdays game against Slovenia.

Well, it looks like both of our Cup runs ended on the same weekend! #-o

But it looks to me like the schooling of England by the Germans was especially fierce, and likely hard to accept by our British friends.

I can't wait to read Chorlton's rant about it, and the attendant excuses!

I'd guess it will be full of references to Mengele and Himmler.

No, we would have stood a better chance with the women's team.
We fielded a bunch of overhyped and overpaid nancy boys who, apparently, were tired.

That said, if the second goal had rightfully been given, we wouldn't have been chasing the game in the first place, spurred on by a reckless surge of wanting to right a wrong. It could have been an entirely different game.

They're still a bunch of tossers.

The 30000 English fans showed infinitely more heart over the course of this world cup than that England team. Scandalous
