Ooops!

Postby Slippery Jim » Sat Nov 20, 2010 6:57 am

I should have posted here before posting in the main threads. Sorry!

I'm currently banned from various UFO forums for questioning the Admin policies.

Does that make me a bad person?

All I know is this place has the best Admins I've ever seen!

Good work lads!!!

Danny.

Welcome - so glad to read your opinion of the admins here...we've had our fair share of tongue-lashing at certain other forums through the years so your kind words are more appreciated than you may know!

Hi Ryan,

I based my opinion on going back through past posts all the way to 2006. In every case where your team were criticised you held your ground and explained why you held your positions and I couldn't find one instance where you banned someone for simply disagreeing with you.

This is admirable and you should be proud that you have this approach.

Thank you and your colleagues for providing a site which is unique in this field!

Hi murnut,

Its happened to me on numerous forums where the Admins are believers. As soon as you criticise their members for being credulous you get bounced.

Thank God for RU!

Okay, I've been a bit snippy with people lately.

I do apologise. There have been a few things happening in my life which I hope can explain this.

In reverse order:

1. I've just broke my sternum and am in a lot of pain.

2. I've been told I'm being made redundant as of 31/5/11.

3. My mum died.

I'm not looking for sympathy, I just don't want anyone thinking I'm normally this obnoxious.

Danny.

In order...

Sorry to hear about your mother's passing Danny. :(

The good news is you have some time to find something else, yes?

How did your break your sternum? (ouch)

hi danny,

ive been through quite a lot myself over the last few years including being extremely unwell due to some spinal damage (now sorted by cortisone injections), and three family deaths just this year (now brighter days due to the recent birth of my nephew) so i can empathise with you (been snappy myself).

get well soon, and hope things improve for you.

all the best.

Thank you, Tom. She had Alzheimers and was in a Care Home. She forgot to take her medication, slipped into a coma and then left us when she was transfered to hospital. She had her whole family with her when she went.

I'm 45 mate. I work in the TV industry. There's not much chance of me getting another job. I'll use the redundancy money to buy a house near my family and effectively retire.

I've broken so many bones in stupid ways! I broke 3 ribs and 3 vertebrae by stepping on a stealth cat at the top of the stairs. I did my sternum by dropping my mobile behind my sofa. I tried to reach it but couldn't so I stood up and tried to grab it but my feet slipped and I landed chest-first on the back of the sofa.

I'm a clutz!
