The Old Man

Postby ryguy » Fri Mar 02, 2007 6:28 pm

Yes I can picture it now.. an old retired couple sitting in their home watching television - rarely get any company whatsoever. Suddenly the motion sensor
at the end of their driveway goes off. They glance at eachother "who
could that be?", the wife struggles to get on her sweater then scampers out the
door to the gate, in order to open it up for whoever is visiting. Curious, the
old man watches from the door to see who it is.

The wife gets to the gate just about when Bill and Kerry pull up.

"Bill: 'Wow...look she's waiting for us...'"
"Kerry: 'Oh my god...how did they know we were coming'"
"Bill: 'Well almost certainly someone must have told them we were coming."
"Kerry: 'Wow...or we're being tracked...or the car is bugged..."
"Bill: 'Yes, yes...all absolutely plausible explanations..."

Kerry...shaking with anticipation, walks carefully over to the gate, smiles,
hands a confused old woman an envelope, and then walks off. She gets in the
car and they leave.

The old lady walks back to the house...

"Well...who was it?" the old man asks.

"Don't know - this woman just handed me this envelope without a word and
then left".

They go inside, open the envelope and read it.

The old man shakes his head and goes back to his chair.

"Damn UFO nuts.."

"But she seemed so normal.." the old lady protests.

"They all do dear," the old man says as he flips the television back
on. "They all do."

Your getting pretty good at telling stories now a days.
