Serpo's Latest - Puthoff and Zero Point

Serpo's Love of Zero Point Energy

Well...someone certainly wants to promote Zero Point energy - the ability to suck energy from a vacuum. Is it coincidence that a physicist who is also quite involved in Zero Point research was a member of the now-infamous team of five? Maybe.

Here are some more "coincidences" for your entertainment. Make sure to read all the way down - they get better toward the bottom...

From Serpo relase 24 on June 20th (emphasis mine)

In THIS system things are different. There is an UNKNOWN METHOD by which
the atoms are changed. Instead of ionic or covalent bonds, this new
system creates a THIRD TYPE of bonding principle. This new type of
bonding causes atoms to take on a different form. Atoms go from a normal
state -- and when I say "normal," I mean normal in OUR science -- to a
"multiplexed" form. In other words, the atoms are doubled or
"piggy-backed" onto each other.

The atoms are somewhat mutated, but maintain their original shape. I
KNOW THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND. That is why we still DON'T understand it. I'll give you a simple example.

If you can recall basic chemistry, you will remember that a hydrogen
atom consists of a single proton -- the nucleus -- with one electron in
a captive state. When two hydrogen atoms approach each other, their
combined energy becomes lower
if they SHARE their electrons. Well, in
this new system, a hydrogen atom, subjected to this new system (inside
this propulsion system) changes to a NEW principle.

The following is from an Earthtech International, Inc. report written in 2000 entitled Ground States and the Zero-Point Field by H.E. Puthoff, Ph.D., Scott Little, and Michael Ibison, Ph.D.

We measured the vibrational ground state energy of H2 molecules indirectly by measuring the molecular dissociation energy. If the ground state energy were reduced, the dissociation energy would necessarily increase correspondingly.

The dissociation energy of H2 has been accurately measured[4] by observing the location of the absorption edge that occurs at about 84.5 nm (14.7 eV - EUV). This edge corresponds to photodissociation of the molecule into one ground state H atom and one H atom in the 1st excited electronic state (+10.2 eV). The difference, about 4.5 eV, is the dissociation energy.

From the Serpo Release:

First, when two hydrogen atoms approach each other, their combined
energy level becomes MULTIPLIED through this strange bonding principle.
So, instead of having a lower energy level, the energy is MULTIPLIED by
the number of atoms of hydrogen that is bonded. If we used the QUANTUM
IDEA to understand this, we would conclude that quantum principles do
NOT work in this new system.

Normally, in our system, positively-charged ions attract and bond to
negatively-charged ions to form molecules. This is NOT the case in this
new system. It makes NO difference whether the ions are positive or
negative as they bond together regardless of valence. We do know that
inside this propulsion system, something causes these strange unnatural
phenomena to occur.

From the Earthtech report:

It has been shown[3] that a charged harmonic oscillator immersed in the zero-point field (ZPF) will reach dynamic equilibrium with the ZPF when the oscillator energy is equal to ħw /2, where w is the oscillator frequency. Diatomic molecules have vibrational modes that closely approximate those of a harmonic oscillator at low energy levels. The ground state energy of such molecules is also given by ħw /2, where w is the molecular vibration frequency. We hypothesize that these molecular ground states are not fixed and immutable, as suggested by quantum theory, but are a result of dynamic equilibrium with the ZPF. We tested this hypothesis by measuring the vibrational ground state energy of H2 molecules placed into a Casimir cavity that suppresses the ZPF frequencies at the corresponding molecular vibration frequency (1.32 X 1014 Hz, 2.2 micron wavelength).

From The Serpo Release:

Two plates of metal sit inside a chamber. This chamber is a vacuum. The
chamber is a PERFECT VACUUM, that is, there is no outside air or other
gases inside this chamber.

From Eathtech

We employed a parallel-plate Casimir cavity made from two 1/20 wave optical flats (aluminized for conductivity) placed face-to-face with 1 micron thick spacers to hold them apart. This spacing is slightly less than half the wavelength of the pertinent radiation so it was largely excluded from the cavity interior in two of the three spatial dimensions.

Serpo:

A tube running from one chamber into another, pushes a gas inside. A third chamber forces still another gas to enter the first chamber. We know that the gases push against these two plates of metal and cause an ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF ENERGY TO BE CREATED.

From Earthtech

The cavity was filled with H2 gas via a hole drilled in the center of one of the flats.

Serpo

Lastly, just before the gases are "mixed," there is a form of light that
is focused against the outgoing energy. This light is of a lower
frequency. Normally, in our quantum theory, a small frequency means a
lower energy. However, is this system, the lower frequency of light was
measured to contain an enormous amount of energy exerted upon this
outgoing energy. When I left in 1988, we could NOT understand how the
gases were mixed nor could we determine HOW the light was generated.

From EarthTech

EUV radiation entered the cavity, propagated through the H2 gas there, then through a subchamber behind the cavity and into a scintillation detector. The subchamber, normally kept evacuated, was employed for reference purposes. Using an external valve manifold, it could be filled with H2 gas (and the cavity evacuated) to obtain the ordinary absorption spectrum for comparison to the absorption spectrum of the H2 gas in the Casimir cavity.

Oh...and this part is my favorite...you're going to love this.

From Serpo:

Dr McPherson retired at the Federal Civil Service grade of GS-16. Dr
McPherson was born on April 8, 1920 in Scranton, PA. Dr McPherson served
in the U.S. Army Infantry in Europe from June 1944 until October 1946.
Dr McPherson obtained the military rank of Sergeant at the time of his
discharge. Dr McPherson attended Penn State University, the University
of Pennsylvania and MIT.

From the Earthtech Report:

This photo shows most of the 4 meter normal incidence monochromator on our beamline. The entrance and exit slits are just beyond the edge of the photo to the right.

The grating housing is mounted on a massive granite slab engraved with “McPherson.” Judging by the price of their smaller monochromators, the cost of this massive ultra-high vacuum instrument must have been astronomical.

I bet it was! Anyone thirsty for funding?

Oh...left out the best part:

Unfortunately, our experimental results therefore neither prove nor disprove our hypothesis. The small size of the observed effect seems to tip the scales in favor of disproof…. but we cannot be certain without further experimentation. We are presently engaged in evaluation of new approaches to this experiment.

Anyone want to invest a few million in this amazing new Free Energy technology research!? You could be the one to save the world! Mr. Church? Mr. Firmage? Bigelow? Anyone have any money left? Please??

;)

Excellent find, Ryan!

This looks like the latest chapter in a long story of taking existing stories/reports and rewording them in a feeble attempt to make their incredible stories sound more credible.

The "McPherson" link is hilarious btw, carrying on the fine tradition started by Sylvester McCoglin, Paul McGovern and Tom Mack. Maybe they should have called him Tom McMack come to think of it!

Luckily for us, they gave us a lot of information to verify the identity of this "Dr. Craig H McPherson", namely:

A background check of Dr Craig H McPherson was conducted. Dr
McPherson obtained a security clearance based on an "Expanded Background
Investigation" in August of 1956. The clearance was upgraded at various
intervals until his retirement. Dr McPherson was a Federal Civil Service
employee from May 23, 1956 until October 1, 1988.

In release #19, McPherson had the suffix "DOE/EG&G" appended to his name.

That gives us somewhere to start.

    Birth Records for Scranton, PA
    Army records
    The Department of Energy
EG&G (Part of the URS Corporation)
    Penn State University
    University of Pennsylvania
    MIT

Perhaps unsurprisingly, nothing has turned up yet. We will keep you updated if and when something does.

Don't hold your breath!

Cheers,
Zep

Of course this doesn’t necessarily implicate Dr. Puthoff.

The alleged Angleton notes plagiarizing Jack Sarfatti’s work – which came to light a couple of months ago – is a good example. Jack had no idea, until it was pointed out, that the notes had been lifted directly from an interview he did a few years ago, which is freely available on the Internet…as with the links here between Dr. Puthoff’s work and the Serpo release.

If you have a theory and then find that theory surfacing through distributed information, you might wonder who and why and what is behind it…does it lend credence to your hypothesis or is it bogus.

I’m not stating that is the case here – with Dr. Puthoff – I’m simply postulating an alternative explanation.

I agree Caryn. What it does show is that whoever is making this stuff up, is simply using existing information on the Internet and inserting/rewording the content into their own tales.

We saw something very similar a few months ago with the Angleton information that had simply been lifted from Jack Sarfatti's work. A lot of the early Serpo stuff simply took what was already out there and had a different spin put on it. Feeble really, you would hope for some originality from these people!

You are correct, however what struck me immediately upon reading that particular release was the fact that in describing the alleged alien technology, the writer was describing exactly how Casimir plates are used in vacuum applications - in this case the use of gases, ground states, ionic forces, etc...it struck me as kind of humorous as an electrical engineer, because it's written in such a way that the writer clearly sees the audience as not really having the capacity to understand the theoretical physics. As I mentioned to a friend earlier - sort of like how an electrical engineer would describe an experiment using Faraday's law of induction, Farady-Lenz law, Kirchhoff's circuit laws, etc... to a medical student or a psychology student.

The point here is not so much that it implicates Puthoff (although the circumstantial data that places him square in the middle of the first Serpo releases on the Team of 5 certainly points strongly in that direction)....the point is more to show that there is nothing Alien about this described technology. This is a description of a theoretical device from theoretical physics. Maybe someone stole a design from someone else and is placing the details in this release. For example the specific seperation of the Casimir plates, the choice of metals, film thicknesses, etc... are all critical design features in all of these experiments - and this particular release goes into excruciating detail on those descriptions. Another possibility might be someone trying to intentionally mislead others who are dabbling in this field (ZPE research).

Here's an example of what's at stake - in particular the last paragraph about the device and proprietary nondisclosure agreements....

http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/cienc ... ergy03.htm

From Scientific American - 1997:

Under the right circumstances, Puthoff reasons, one could effectively manipulate the vacuum so that a new, lower ground state appears. The electron would then drop to the lower ground state--in effect, the atom would become smaller--and give up some energy in the process. "It implies that hydrogen or deuterium injected into cavities might produce excess energy," Puthoff says. This possibility might explain cold-fusion experiments, he notes--in other words, the occasional positive results reported in cold-fusion tests might really be indicators of zero-point energy (rather than, one would assume, wishful thinking).

[Picture of a piezoelectric stack within a suspended device to measure the Casimir Effect.]

[Picture of vacuum fluctuations flowing between the Casimir Plates.]

Work in cavity quantum electrodynamics is experimentally challenging in its own right, however, so it is not clear how practical an energy supply from "shrinking atoms" could be. The Austin institute is testing a device that could be interpreted as manipulating the vacuum, although Puthoff declines to provide details, citing proprietary nondisclosure agreements with its designers.

Also...

I’m not stating that is the case here – with Dr. Puthoff – I’m simply postulating an alternative explanation.

Which is excellent. These latest releases offer an abundance of clues. Not so much as to the culprits (all of us here are fairly confident who remains on the "usual suspects" list)....but now we have more clues as to motive.

What really fascinates me is the reaction of certain people that takes place behind the scenes. Take these latest Serpo releases for example. There we were, thinking "what a crock of you know what" when out of the blue up pops an email with barely contained excitement from a person who had already told us he had left this all behind. It was all quite bizarre really. There then followed a series of emails, the content of which can only be described as a staunch defense of everything that had already been put to bed during the course of our investigations last year. Tired old IP arguments were brought up, all of which completely missed the point and only served to detract from the actual issues, as well as assuming we are dense and have actually forgotten the timelines of everything that transpired. This person forgets "we were there" and we certainly haven't forgotten what went on at that time.

Take the IP address issue for example. That has long since been put to bed but do you know what, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference in any case! This particular person is now saying it wasn't Doty releasing the information, it was someone hacking into his computer. Ok then Mr No Memory, how does that explain away the fact that Doty Fed-ex'd documents to Bill Ryan and his Ex g/f as well as hand-delivering them to him in person? Did they hack into Doty's body too?! How does it explain the fact that Doty told Bill Ryan he had the ENTIRE set of Serpo documents laying around on his computer but they were all encrypted and he had to solve a series of puzzles and questions in order to decrypt them? Doty had all of the information, why would ANYONE need to hack into his computer in order to send emails that "appeared" to come from Doty's computer when Doty was already in posession of the documents and was sending them out in any case?!

How does it explain away the fact that Bill Ryan KNEW the documents were all coming from Rick Doty but he (Bill) thought Doty was simply being used as an intermediary?

Stuff and nonsense! I suggest this person have a good read-through of the entire Serpo investigation both on the main website and here on the forum. You are going to be hard pushed explaining all that away matey ;)

IP = Idiotic Prattle
