Has James Randi ever found anything he couldnt disprove or provide a rational explanation for ?

Would everyone here be interested in hearing a recorded interview with James Randi?

We can ask him that question, and more. We can leave the questions for him up to our membership. I'm pretty sure he'd be more than willing to entertain a short hour-long interview. Last time we spoke he was pleased to discover semi-sane people who are involved in the field. I say semi-sane, because I'm part of that group... ;)

Cool! 8)

I’ve been meaning to ask him about the vetting process they use for the JREF forum. I started a thread about possibly implementing something like that here and was curious how well it works for them but haven’t had a chance to get around to it yet.

ha! Or pseudo-sane? :)

Give me the weekend to see if I can get a sense of if he'll be wiling to do it, then we can come up with the list of interview questions in here.

Randi's means to test paranormal claims is fundamentally flawed. At the end of the day, something is only proven or disproven if he deems it to be so. Junk.

Well, if he's the piper, he calls the tune.

If you can disprove something by a clear example then that act alone casts doubt upon the claim in the first place.

Im happy with most explanations Ive seen of his. Yep a lot of them are simplistic, but then again the things he is debunking or exposing are simplistic.

So you wont be putting any questions to him then ?

Haven't decided if I will or if I won't.

Yes, I believe that at least sometimes Randi performs authentic debunkings, however I still have my reservations as my posts on the thread below illustrate.

OH good grief.

Been so busy I forgot for heaven's sake. I'd asked Randi over the weekend if he would do the interview and he said "Yes, sure."

Fire away with the questions everyone. Once we've got a decent list (at least 10 or so), I'll set up a phonecall with Randi to do the recorded interview with your questions!

OK Question

What was the claim made, that he found most hardest to debunk?

Has there been anything he has not been able to debunk.?

Well, in addition to my earlier question about vetting (how it works for them) it would be interesting to know what he personally would consider to be the simplest yet still compelling demonstration of ESP?

Obviously the $1,000,000 challenge (which I understand they’ve recently relaxed the requirements for in response to repeated criticism of it being too challenging… oh the irony lol) is carefully designed to be scientifically compelling but I’ve often asked myself the same question…

[of course the answer I came up with will remain sealed until after the interview is completed lol]

OK so that’s four questions now, anybody else?
