Strange metal boxes on beaches

Postby Count » Sun Feb 12, 2012 8:01 am

Ran across this today and I didn't manage to find previous discussion here about this particular thing.

UFO sightings reveal more strange metal boxes along coastal beaches

"BRAY’S POINT, Ore. – They can’t be moved; even when yanked by a four-wheel drive truck pulling on heavy chains tied around these humming metal boxes that are still appearing as of Feb. 8 up and down West Coast beaches."

The article that the UFO history is filled wit these mystery boxes, but the only thing I personally could remember was something about Sri Lanka years ago (which is mentioned in the text as an example). I wonder if the brit UFO documents that were released in recent years have any further information; has anyone here taken a look?

If any of this were even remotely true, the mainstream news would have had a field day with it. They haven't, because it isn't. It's either a hoax or a (very poor) marketing viral.

Cheers,
Steve

There have been three articles and the comment thread in the last one is full of interesting updates. One man, living right there, checked it out and saw nothing. he gave his phone number and name. An anonymous posting claims that early yesterday he first saw the state police, then national guard with Blackhawks staging further up the coast and that they closed the beach. looks like also someone else showed up and said the beach was rocky, not smooth sandy in the picture. (He appears to be wrong based on photos of beaches at Stonefield State Recreation Beach.

Will get that link to the last article..... organized all the material in sequence at facebook...last few days.

Steve's two options for an explanation seem to be our most likely resolutions of this.

Read the comments thread.....should clear things up....

Or, just confuse us more....two anonymous handles, mother trucker and sea wrangler reporting unusual activity in this area

A guy at ATS seems to have figured out Dave Masko (the author of the "metal boxes" article,) as well.

Maybe Mr Masko is Michael Cohen's apprentice ...

BILL HANSHUMAKER

Public Marine Education Specialist
Extension Sea Grant Faculty

bill.hanshumaker@hmsc.orst.edu

As of late afternoon Feb. 8, Bill Hanshumaker, a public marine specialist and (Ph.D) doctor of marine science at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in nearby Newport, told Huliq in an interview that, “I don’t know what they are.” In turn, Doctor Hanshumaker said he’s advised “surf monitoring” about these strange metal boxes that suddenly appeared along local beaches Feb. 6, and now seem to be multiplying like Star Trek “Tribbles.” The photograph that accompanies this report – taken during the afternoon of Feb. 8 near Bray’s Point -- of yet another strange metal box stuck in the surf up is one of a possible group of a dozen or more that have been sited up and down West Coast beaches.

I wonder what Bill thinks of the article?

http://www.groundzeromedia.org/operation-jack-in-the-box/

The above link is an article by two guys who went there yesterday, in stormy conditions. They didn't find anything.

They interviewed some people in the area, one supposedly recounting helicopters on the beach and Marci from the gas station reporting on boxes being seen earlier by people, with glowing lights.

The National UFO Reporting center database for Oregon is simply through the roof.....the number of filed UFO reports has dramatically increased.....and it appears some folks in the area of this story might have UFO fever

Dave Masko posted this "update" yesterday:
http://www.huliq.com/10282/ufo-sightings-stuck-state-flux-due-lack-funding-and-fear-metal-boxes

Lots of irrelevant, tangential material in there....
