How 'clever' of Admin to selectively quote from my emails over the weekend. He asked me a specific question, to which I had already supplied a specific answer.
I had already told them I sometimes use Read Notify to track emails that I have sent!
They are proving once and for all exactly what lengths they will sink to in an attempt to portray us as the bad guys. Well, it won't work. I will provide all of the relevant emails here so you can see for yourselves what those guys are trying to do.
Cheers,
Zep

So that just leaves Ryan Dube and Stephen Broadbent.
I'll ask again, are any of the RU guys/gals able to confirm or deny that they are using an "EMSVR" 'script' in any of their internet correspondences?
If yes, for what purpose is it being deployed?
What a bunch of scare-mongering blithering idiots you are. I sometimes use readnotify.com when sending out emails. By appending ‘readnotify.com’ to the end of an email address, the outgoing email is routed through readnotify’s servers before being sent on to the recipient. I then receive a detailed delivery notification report, more detailed than the standard report that most email clients provide. There is nothing sinister whatsoever with the service, but it doesn’t surprise me in the least that you people would try to insinuate otherwise. Pathetic.
Thanks to the services of readnotify, absolute proof regarding the source of the SEINU/TC emails will be provided later today.
From ReadNotify.com:ReadNotify will endeavour to provide the following in your tracking reports:Date and time opened
All messages sent via ReadNotify benefit from our SPF compliant and Sender-ID compliant mail servers. This confirms safe transmission of your messages, and also enables us to report delivery status to you (including: bounce-backs, delays and success notifications). Delivery information is listed in your Personal Tracking Page.
Location of recipient (per their ISP city /town)
Map of location (available on paid subscriptions)
Recipients IP address
Apparent email address of opening (if available)
Referrer details (ie; if accessed via web mail etc)
URL clicks
How long the email was read for
How many times your email was opened
If your email was forwarded, or opened on a different computer
Try hovering your mouse over the sections in our Live Sample Receipt for more information.
Note: ReadNotify.com does not use or contain any spy-ware, mal-ware, nor virues, it is not illegal to use, and does not breach any privacy regulations in any countries.
One other service they provide is a “Legal proof of opening receipt”, very handy indeed…
Steve

"scaremongering"? That's your choice of word. lol! Not mine.
But the questions was - the EMSVR script, Stephen - do you use that?
Me personally? No I do not. However, I would suggest you read my previous reply again to receive an answer to the question you originally asked. Once you’ve read it, apply some critical thinking and you just may surprise yourself.
I learned what TC has shown here today. That he uses spyware in emails and outright denies he does.

Subject: Tracking software in use: how READNOTIFY works
Hi, Marilyn, everyone on this list:
If you do a search in your headers for “readnotify”, you’ll find that Marilyn’s e-mail address – alone – has “readnotify.com” appended to it, which started on 7 October, I believe with Steve’s message cc’d to this list (can’t check for sure, because I’ve deleted it). This has continued with every mail replied to, and so it continues.
This is in the HEADER – not in the cc list which is immediately visible.
Look and see in your past messages in recent days – not just from RU, but from each other. I eliminated it from this message – I believe.
Steve Broadbent is tracking Marilyn’s messages in particular – no-one else’s as far as I can see.
I now do not open any RU messages. They will be able to see that. It’s the best specific response.
Also check for “readnotify” in the headers of any messages that are replied to or forwarded, even to one another, and even if RU are removed from the cc list – because they’ll continue to be tracked.
Victor, you may want to alert everyone on your list that READNOTIFY is in use, that the the source is RU, and that Marilyn was specifically targeted. This is spyware by any definition.
Best to all, Bill

There was a time I sort of wished I'd applied to "the list" but these last months I'm just glad I never acted on that temptation.
I get enough spam as it is without needing to deal with unsolicited harebrained conspiracy theories as well.
You show 'em, Zep.

LOL
Readnotify has been in use on the e-list since before serpo
before Zep was on the list
before RU:)
Check your headers

In essence what Broadbent is doing is using spyware.
The fact they don't have permission from a recipient to tract their email use and do it clandestinely does not effect their conscience, because they have no set moral code, it is defined by how far they can go without getting caught.
