Richard visited Ufology folks wearing the uniform and medals in order to provide the false impression that he was a man with a particular status and with a particular military background. That was his own doing - I doubt anyone dressed him in the uniform and pinned the medals on his chest.

He had ample opportunity to speak for himself on the matter, instead he chose to hide behind Salla and the brainless OM idiots.

Sure but it's just as plausible that the Pickles paid him to perform his masquerade in order to snooker BruMac, Morningstar and Salla into thinking the story they (the Pickles) were telling to the fools at OM had a modicum of credibility. In other words he could have been a paid actor. None of the b.s. spewed at OM came from him- it came from the Pickles.
