Who was the "real Falcon"?

Am actually a bit surprised to see that this topic isn't being discussed here yet. A couple of weeks ago Greg Bishop appeared on a conference to talk about what Bill Moore has revealed to him concerning the identity of the "Falcon". Later then he also appeared on the Dark Matters radio show to talk a bit more about this topic:

A couple of weeks later researcher Grant Cameron chimed in with his own theories about who Falcon could have been since as it seems Bill Moore told him about that too.

As both believe now Rick Doty was not the "real Falcon" but was maybe rather someone who claimed to be "Falcon" in order to cover the identity of someone else, like maybe Harry Rositzke or Richard Helms who were both big players in the CIA. As it seems both already died many years ago so I personally wonder why this all is being revealed now and not much earlier.

This was such a long time ago but I do remember Moore telling me (during a visit in the hours before a SF speech) that Doty was not Falcon.

I also remember now that Doty seemed to be represented as a go between.

If we can sort out this aspect of UFO history we may be able to discern at what level of understanding the covert intelligence gathering of the government has reached. Everybody has got to junk their already existing mental pictures on this for that to be possible, though, and right now I'm not holding my breath.

The UFO field altogether lost it's chance in the early and mid 90s with the growing hyping and commercialization and witness tainting related to Roswell. Kent Jeffries changing his conclusions and Kal Korff showing holes in witness testimony and the UFO field's reaction to that was an important part of the history also.

Grant Cameron now has a new book out (or at least a newly revised and expanded version of a book first given a limited circulation publication by MUFON about 20 years ago), co-authored by T Scott Crain entitled "UFOs, Area 51, and Government Informants" that has a section entitled "The Identity of Falcon" at pages 175-179 which includes the statement that Moore has identified Falcon as the "veteran super spy CIA Harry Rositzke" (but endnote 100 on page 293 comments that this name "may just be another cover").

Anyway, given the interest in the Aviary and the related cast of, um, colourful characters on this Forum, I thought some of you might be interested to hear about this new/revised book:
